A Day in the Life:
As an Operator I, you will play a key role in the daily operations of our facility, contributing to various areas such as Material Handling, Warehouse, and Bulk Systems. This position requires adherence to strict safety and food safety regulations, a commitment to quality, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Successful candidates will be team players with a strong work ethic and a desire to learn and grow with our company.
Position Details:
- Twelve-hour rotating shifts (days and nights), including weekends and holidays.
- Hourly wage: $17.58
What You'll Be Doing:
- Safety First: Demonstrate a commitment to safety by adhering to all safety procedures, utilizing appropriate PPE, and actively participating in safety programs.
- Food Safety & Quality: Maintain a food-safe environment by following good manufacturing practices (GMPs) and adhering to all food safety guidelines.
- Operational Excellence: Perform duties related to material handling, warehouse operations, and bulk systems management, depending on daily assignments. This may include:
- Material Handling: Verify bag printing accuracy, ensure correct bag usage, maintain accurate records, and operate forklifts safely and efficiently (following Bunge's forklift training and certification).
- Warehouse: Load/unload shipments, fulfill product orders, manage warehouse inventory, and operate forklifts.
- Bulk Systems: Direct product flow into silos, monitor and adjust flour flow during tank filling, maintain meticulous records of lot numbers, silo inventory, inbound/outbound weights, truck scale weights, scale tickets, tank placement for truck pick-up, and tank seals/documentation.
- Continuous Improvement: Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance processes and efficiency.
- Teamwork: Collaborate effectively with colleagues to achieve shared goals and maintain a positive work environment.
- Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned or required to support the needs of the facility.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 1+ year of relevant work experience is preferred, including forklift and warehouse experience.
- Language Skills: Proficient in reading and writing English for record keeping, safety training, and process documentation.
- Math Skills: Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division), understanding of various units of measure (US Currency, imperial/metric weights and measurements), common fractions, and decimal usage.
- Safety Consciousness: Demonstrated ability to work safely and responsibly in a safety-conscious environment.
