A Day in the Life:
Bunge is seeking a motivated Purchasing Agent to manage the external procurement of packaging and ingredients, ensuring timely delivery, adherence to quality specifications, and cost optimization. This role is crucial in maintaining efficient inventory levels and supporting our operational goals.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Contribute to maintaining a safe, accident-free workplace by adhering to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Coordinate and execute the procurement of packaging and ingredients, optimizing inventory levels to meet production demands while minimizing costs.
- Utilize SAP to generate and manage purchase orders for all Bill of Material (BOM) items.
- Maintain and update inventory records for Bunge-owned materials stored at supplier locations.
- Establish, review, and maintain appropriate stock levels for packaging, labels, and ingredients.
- Perform weekly packaging cycle counts and collaborate with the Plant Analyst to investigate and resolve discrepancies.
- Develop and foster strong working relationships with all suppliers.
- Investigate packaging non-conformances by accurately logging information and proactively following up with suppliers to achieve timely resolutions.
- Develop and update packaging delivery schedules to ensure alignment with production needs.
- Ensure vendor records in SAP are current and accurate.
- Manage invoice reconciliation processes, collaborating closely with the Accounts Payable department.
- Review and resolve any invoice discrepancies promptly.
- Provide backup support for the Supply Chain Manager as needed.
- Other tasks as assigned to support department objectives.
Skills/Experience Requirements:
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a relevant procurement, supply chain, or materials planning role.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with SAP purchasing modules is a significant asset.
- Ability to quickly adapt to company-specific systems.
- Fundamental understanding of procurement processes and supply chain principles.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proven ability to prioritize workload, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and work effectively under pressure.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Knowledge of oil scheduling is an asset.

The compensation range for this position is $66,192.00 to $74,466.00. In addition to the regular compensation, this role is also eligible for an annual incentive bonus.
