Overview

Responsible for leading, planning, organizing, planning for emergent works, and directing all mechanical maintenance activities within the plant to ensure optimal equipment reliability, availability, and performance. This role focuses on minimizing downtime, optimizing maintenance costs, and contribute continuous improvement initiatives, while strictly adhering to safety and quality standards. The senior executive will lead a team of mechanical technicians, coordinate with other departments, and manage external contractors to achieve operational excellence. This role is crucial in translating maintenance requirements into actionable job plans, and managing spare parts to support reliable plant operations.

 

Main Accountabilities:

A. Maintenance Planning, Scheduling & Execution:

  1. Manage the end-to-end work order process within the CMMS (SAP), from notification review and approval to work order release, ensuring data accuracy and compliance with established procedures.
  2. Develop comprehensive work planning, utilizing detailed job plans and step-by-step work instructions, allocating required resources (labor, materials, tools, equipment), estimated costs, and timeframes for both PM, PdM and CPdM tasks.
  3. Conduct field verification and scope definition for maintenance work requests, incorporating safety requirements and best practices directly into job plans.
  4. Continuously solicit and integrate feedback from the maintenance execution team (supervisors, technicians) to refine and improve job plans and planning processes.
  5. Implement, executes and oversee the daily, weekly, and long-term mechanical maintenance task by effectively prioritizing work assigned and emergent work  from various stakeholders, utilizing the plant's overall maintenance plan.
  6. Drive the effective implementation of preventive maintenance (PM) and predictive maintenance (PdM) schedules including CPdM, ensuring timely and compliant execution.
  7. Proactively manage the maintenance backlog, coordinating closely with production and planning teams to prioritize, schedule, and reschedule work orders to minimize operational impact and achieve desired service levels.
  8. Lead daily scheduling meetings, integrating planned, unplanned, and urgent maintenance jobs, and making necessary adjustments to schedules in response to emergencies or evolving operational needs.
  9. Monitor and ensure the timely and quality completion of all scheduled maintenance tasks by the mechanical team, striving to achieve key performance indicators (KPIs) such as Schedule Compliance, Work Order Completion Rate, and Mean Time To Repair (MTTR).

B. CMMS Work Management & Integrity:

  1. Fully utilized CMMS (SAP) to develop the work planning including work order management, material reservation, external resource support and PE/SC creation.
  2. Provide feedback to maintenance planner or reliability manager to improve and update the Master Equipment List and Bills of Material (BOMs) within the CMMS (SAP), including regular updates for new equipment, modifications, and management of change (MOC) processes within his area or responsibility.
  3. Support maintenance planner to update and optimize Preventive Maintenance (PM) plans and checklists within the CMMS (SAP) based on equipment performance, manufacturer recommendations, and reliability insights.

C. Spare Parts & Material Management:

  1. Manage the spare parts kitting process, coordinating closely with storeroom personnel and procurement to ensure kits are prepared accurately and on time, striving for continuous improvement in kitting efficiency.
  2. Provide feedback to maintenance planner to perform initial spare parts analysis to identify criticality, recommend appropriate inventory levels, establish re-order points, and define maximum stock levels, developing appropriate Material Requirements Planning (MRP) profiles in SAP.
  3. Initiate and manage purchase requisitions for necessary parts, materials, and services, verifying receipts and processing goods/service confirmations in SAP.

D. Shutdown & Contractor Coordination:

  1. Provide crucial planning and preparation support for plant shutdowns and turnarounds, including organizing preparatory meetings, worklist planning, spare parts readiness and securing external resource support.
  2. Continuous Improvement & Safety:
  3. Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) discussions and other problem-solving initiatives to identify systemic maintenance issues and contribute to corrective action planning.
  4. Support safety by ensuring all planned work adheres to established safety protocols, regulations, and company policies.

E. Team Leadership & Development:

  1. Provide strong leadership, technical guidance, coaching, and training to mechanical maintenance supervisors and technicians.
  2. Foster a culture of high performance, accountability, continuous learning, and safety within the mechanical maintenance team.
  3. Conduct performance reviews, set objectives, and support the professional development of team members.

F. Technical Support & Troubleshooting:

  1. Lead and actively participate in the troubleshooting of complex mechanical issues, ensuring prompt and effective resolution to minimize equipment downtime.
  2. Oversee and ensure that all mechanical repair and maintenance activities are carried out in strict compliance with safety regulations, company standards, and best engineering practices.
  3. Verify that all necessary work permits (e.g., Lockout/Tagout, Hot Work, Confined Space Entry) are obtained and strictly adhered to prior to commencement of any maintenance work.

G. Performance Management & Continuous Improvement:

  1. Monitor, analyze, and report on mechanical equipment performance, maintenance activities, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  2. Prepare and present comprehensive KPI reports, including daily work completion, shutdown scheduled work compliance, maintenance backlog, and unplanned downtime rates (UDT), identifying trends and areas for improvement.
  3. Actively participate in Asset Care Pillar assessments and other continuous improvement programs, driving the execution of improvement plans to achieve reliability and cost targets.
  4. Lead or actively participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) discussions and problem-solving initiatives to identify systemic issues and implement sustainable corrective actions.

H. Collaboration & Contractor Management:

  1. Collaborate effectively with Operations, Production, Engineering, and other relevant departments to minimize production downtime, optimize maintenance windows, and maximize overall plant efficiency.
  2. Coordinate and manage external contractors for specific maintenance projects or scheduled works, ensuring adherence to scope, budget, schedule, and safety requirements.

 

     

Education/Experience Requirement:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical / Mechatronics Engineering or a related field.
  2. >5 years of experience in working experience
  3. Familiar with the maintenance activities for utilities supply system (steam, compressed air, water, gases), processing system equipped with rotating equipment, tanks, valves and pipelines, plus the industrial packing lines.
  4. Good understanding of safety regulations and compliance requirements
  5. Preventative & Predictive maintenance
  6. Troubleshooting & Problem Solving skill, i.e. RCA
  7. Procurement management - Create SCM, GRN, lead time & follow up
  8. CMMS, Maintenance Planning & Scheduling
  9. Equipment performance monitoring
  10. Strong interpersonal skill and communication ability
  11. Familiar with Microsoft office - Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  12. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
