Role purpose : 

Responsible for implementing and managing sustainability and responsible sourcing requirements across Bunge’s palm oil supply chain, including grievance management, supplier screening and onboarding, and ongoing supplier engagement. The role ensures compliance with Bunge’s NDPE commitments through supplier audits, technical capacity building, and human rights risk monitoring across the palm oil value chain, contributing to continuous improvement and supply chain integrity 

 

Accountablities : 

  1. Grievance Coordination
    • Develop, implement, and manage a transparent, and credible grievance mechanism for Bunge’s  palm oil and derivatives supply chain, including supplier grievance engagement and monitoring of corrective actions, verification of milestones and reporting of grievance updates.
    • Lead investigations into reported grievances, verifying claims through remote or on-the-ground assessments, and engaging with internal and external stakeholders, including complainants, suppliers, and affected communities.
  2. Supplier Engagement 
    • Engage directly with palm oil suppliers (direct and indirect) to communicate and enforce Bunge’s sustainability policies, Supplier Code of Conduct, including NDPE commitments and human rights requirements and participate in sector level platforms- RSPO, MSPO and Palm Oil Collaboration Group activities.
    • Conduct sustainability risk assessments and regular supplier audits to monitor compliance with contractual obligations and industry standards (e.g., RSPO, ISPO, MSPO, ISCC).
  3. Human Rights compliance  
    • Work alongside global teams in the execution of human rights due diligence processes and subsequent intervention activities across the palm oil value chain, aligning with the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights and OECD Guidelines.
    • Identify, assess, and mitigate human rights risks, including those related to labor practices, land rights, and community engagement.
    • Promote and monitor compliance with international labor standards (e.g., ILO Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work) within Bunge’s own operations and supply chain.
    • Develop training and communication materials for internal teams and suppliers on human rights policies and best practices.

 

Requirement : 

  1. Minimum of Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Agriculture, Environmental Science, Business Management, Forestry, Natural/Social Science, or a related discipline.
  2. Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in sustainability, responsible sourcing, or supply chain management, with a significant focus on the palm oil sector.
  3. Proven experience in managing grievance mechanisms and coordinating complex investigations.
  4. In-depth knowledge of sustainable palm oil certifications (RSPO, ISPO, MSPO, SA 8000, SEDEX/SMETA) and related principles and criteria.
  5. Strong understanding of human rights principles and frameworks applicable to agricultural supply chains.
  6. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders (internal, suppliers, NGOs, communities).
