Technician - Electrical

Main Role

• To maintain and repair various electrical and instrument equipment and machinery.
• Ensure that corrective and preventive maintenance work orders are completed in a safe and efficient manner.
• Responsible for ensuring the implementation of equipment maintenance systems and quality strategies to enhance equipment reliability, availability, and safety standards.

Key Accountabilities

• Perform electrical installation, assembly, diagnosis, testing, repair, and troubleshooting of various equipment, including Low Voltage Distribution Systems, Standby Generators, Induction Motors, Motor Starters, Variable Speed Drives (VSDs), hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and all other site equipment.
• Perform installation, testing, commissioning, verification, and calibration of process instrumentation equipment and systems, such as those related to temperature, pressure, level, flow, and liquid analysis. This includes process indicators, controllers, recorders, PLCs, SCADA/DCS systems, and other related equipment.
• Ensure optimal equipment performance across the site by minimizing breakdown time and ensuring timely and safe completion of preventive maintenance (PM) work.
• Identify risks and hazards during operation and ensure adherence to all safety procedures and good housekeeping standards.
• Participate and make recommendations to improve maintenance and production operations from an Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) perspective.
• Carry out process instrument verifications and calibrations.

Competency Requirements

• Certificate or Diploma in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
• Possess a PW2/PW4 Wireman Certificate or an AO Chargeman Certificate issued by Suruhanjaya Tenaga.
• Knowledge of Process Instrumentation Equipment, including systems for temperature, pressure, flow, level, and process analytical measurements, as well as their installation, verification, and calibration.
