Operator I

The Warehouse Operator is assigned to day shift.  The position is paid $20.35 per hour.  Health and welfare benefits begin on date of hire, there is a perfect attendance award, and an annual bonus.

Job Duties:

• Operate mobile equipment to organize, receive, and ship finished product and materials
• Ensure the following elements are focused on:
  • Productivity:  Coordinate with management on shipping/receiving orders and scheduling of inbound trucks
  • Quality:  Analyze conditions by inspecting inventory, packaging labels and product shelf life to ensure product consistency and quality
  • Safety:  Maintain a safe work environment for self and all employees by leading and participating in all safety aspects. 
  • Other safety related duties as assigned including, but not limited to safety inspections, assist with LOTO and confined space entry, CPR, present safety topics, etc.
  • Environmental: Evaluate work areas, respond to alarms, assist with housekeeping controls in the shipping/receiving area
• Training of new employees
• Required to follow all HAACP procedures and guidelines to ensure product safety and quality
• Inspect mobile equipment daily and report issues/concerns
• Record data and maintain records
• Inventory materials according to FIFO standards
• General housekeeping of the plant
• Effectively communicate with drivers and provide customer service regarding shipments as needed
• Perform miscellaneous job related duties/projects as assigned
• Commitment to supply safe food, maintain a food safety culture within the site, continually improve the site's food safety management system; and comply with customer and regulatory requirements.

Education/Experience

• High School diploma or GED equivalent preferred
• Certified in all areas of assigned department including use of mobile equipment
• Must be willing to train in all aspects of shipping and receiving
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
• Demonstrated ability to work in a safety conscious environment
• Some mechanical background including the ability to recognize signs of operational failure
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Must be willing and able to work rotating shift and overtime as needed
• Must be willing to work different schedules for specified time period as deemed appropriate by management
