Summer Student Labourer

A Day in the Life:

Reporting to the Production Manager, the Summer Student Labourer will perform various general labour duties, including painting, cleaning, manual labour, and yard work. This position provides a valuable opportunity for local university students, to gain practical experience in an industrial setting.

This is a temporary, full-time position for the summer. The successful candidate must be available to work in all weather conditions and commit to the full duration of the term.

Position Details:

• Work Schedule: 7:00 am - 3:30 pm with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break, Monday to Friday
• Hourly Pay Rate: $24.94

Core Functions:

• Strict adherence to all Bunge safety policies and procedures.
• Painting various surfaces inside and outside the facility, as required.
• Performing general clean-up and housekeeping tasks in all areas of the facility, both indoors and outdoors.
• Maintaining the grounds and performing yard work, including mowing, trimming, and weeding.
• Assisting with other duties as assigned by the Refinery Manager or other designated personnel.

Skill/Experience Requirements:

• Current enrollment in a post-secondary institution with plans to return to school in the fall is preferred, preferably in the first or second year of an engineering program.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Completion of Grade 12 or GED preferred.
• Previous industrial or general labour experience is an asset.
• Good mechanical aptitude and ability to use various hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to work at heights and in a physically demanding environment, in all weather conditions.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality.
• Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks efficiently.
