Overview:
The person in this role demonstrates a high level of professionalism, prioritizing data analysis and reporting within the Business Technology, Innovation, Product Development and Analytics department. Responsibilities include collaborating with various teams to transform data into actionable insights, conducting thorough investigations of business intelligence topics, developing, and maintaining BI solutions, and contributing to the overall data strategy.
Essential Functions:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deeply understand business needs, gather comprehensive requirements, and translate them into precise data specifications.
- Conduct feasibility studies and in-depth investigations of BI topics, evaluating data availability, quality, and potential impact on existing solutions.
- Analyze and validate data from various source systems (e.g., Oracle, BigQuery), ensuring accuracy, integrity, and readiness for reporting.
- Design, develop, and maintain BI dashboards and reports that provide actionable insights to stakeholders, with a critical understanding of underlying report logic and data flow (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Identify and interpret trends and patterns in data to support business decisions.
- Communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders through clear and concise visualizations and presentations.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in business intelligence.
- Participate in data governance initiatives to ensure data quality and consistency.
- Provide training and support to end-users on BI tools and reports.
Qualifications:
- Typically, bachelor’s degree with 3 - 5 years of position related experience, or equivalent combo of education and experience level.
- Strong proficiency in BI tools like Power BI or Tableau, with proven ability to analyze and understand complex report structures and logic.
- Advanced skills in SQL for data extraction and manipulation, including experience with large datasets in relational (e.g., Oracle) and cloud-based analytical databases (e.g., BigQuery).
- Experience with data modeling concepts.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and coordination skills, with a demonstrated ability to quickly grasp complex business processes and data relationships.
- Strong communication and soft skills to present findings clearly.
