Overview:


We are looking for an experienced leader to join the Enterprise Architecture team in the Business Technology (BT) organization, focusing on enterprise infrastructure (networks, datacenters, cloud platforms) across IT and OT environments. The Enterprise Architect  translates the strategy into a technical, cost-effective and future-proof roadmap.
The Enterprise Architect will be responsible for defining the overall architecture for the domain (in alignment with BT’s architectural principles). The Enterprise Architect will report to the Enterprise Architecture Lead. This senior position demands a self-managed professional with deep technical knowledge, excellent communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to effectively present solutions to senior stakeholders – considering and communicating trade-offs and risks. The Enterprise Architect will report to the Enterprise Architecture Lead and he/she will work closely with Infrastructure and Security Architecture directors.

 

Essential Functions:

 

  • Create enterprise level architectural standards and best practices, update and change solution level architecture in partnership with Infrastructure, Security and Cloud towers.
  • Designs, owns, and maintains the overall technical architecture for the domain.
  • Aligns the domain architecture with the enterprise architecture in accordance with BT’s strategy, and socializes the domain architecture vision, models, and goals.
  • Defines realistic mid- to long-term (3-5 year) roadmaps and strategy for the domain, including driving the cloud migration strategy, data center rationalization, and security enhancement initiatives, with awareness of product backlogs, enterprise resourcing, and interdependencies, together with the Business Technology Partner (BTP) counterpart.
  • Establishes or has substantial influence on long-term organizational vision and strategy across markets, functions, divisions, regions and/or countries, ensuring broad enterprise-wide alignment and impact.
  • Participates in the development of multi-year roadmaps for the enterprise and overall architecture strategy.
  • Defines patterns and standards for reuse to drive technology standardization based on an assessment of capabilities.
  • Works with other EA’s and architects to align their roadmaps with the technical stack and continuously identify new and improved approaches to designing technical solutions.
  • Supports Product/Platform teams in defining their roadmaps for improving engineering practices and quality.
  • Ensure correct information catalogue within Architecture tool (LeanIX)
  • Works closely with the procurement team to optimize cost, prevent redundancy, and increase efficiency through continuous process improvement when applicable.
  • Works closely with the security team to ensure compliance with industry best practices and required certifications, identify any gaps in the risk profile of the domain, and take measures to ensure confidentiality, integrity, security, and reliability.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Mathematics, Engineering, Business Administration, or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience as a Infrastructure Leader/Architect in a technology/digital organization at a multinational company.
  • In-depth technological knowledge and hands-on experience in at least one of the technical domains (Data Center, Network, Cloud, Infrastructure Services, etc).
  • Be capable of incorporate design choices and constraints into architecture decisions, trade-offs and risk letters.
  • Deep understanding of the interdependence between enterprise strategy and IT delivery groups.
  • Ability to leverage strong analytical and problem-solving skills to recognize reusable patterns and solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence key business and technology stakeholders (e.g., Product and Platform Owners), including C-Level executives, through excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Familiar with business case creation and answering tactical challenges (Cost x benefit x future).
  • Track record with at least one transformation project (Ex.: On-Prem to Cloud, Cost Rationalization, etc).
  • Understanding architectural frameworks such as TOGAF is a plus.
  • Understanding risk management, security requirements, and reliability considerations at the OS, middleware, and application levels.
  • Driven “leader-doer” who is prepared to roll up their sleeves and not afraid to challenge the status quo.
  • Willingness to take ownership of responsibilities outside their immediate domain when necessary.
  • Experience in the agriculture industry is a plus
  • Fluency in English is mandatory, and Spanish is a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience building and maintaining technology capability maps.
