Overview
The Regional AMS Leader is a senior responsible for the management of all application support contracts within South America. This includes vendor relationship management, contract negotiation and oversight, collaboration and alignment with internal stakeholders, and with global support teams.
The role focuses on driving service quality, cost optimization, and process improvements across the AMS processes. To lead and optimize Application Management Support (AMS) across Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay and Chile, ensuring high-quality service delivery, strong vendor relationships, and continuous improvement aligned with global best practices, framework and governance.
Essential Functions
Manage relationships with all AMS vendors in the region, ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) are met and performance is consistently reviewed.
Negotiate and execute contracts, ensuring optimal terms and cost-effectiveness.
Conduct regular performance reviews and implement corrective action plans as needed.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives with vendors to enhance service quality and efficiency.
Oversee all AMS contracts in the region, tracking key performance indicators (KPIs), milestones, and financials.
Identify and mitigate risks related to contract performance.
Proactively manage contract renewals and renegotiations.
Collaborate with local business stakeholders (BT SA Apps Leaders and Key-User Leaders) to understand their needs and ensure alignment of AMS services with business priorities.
Communicate effectively with stakeholders on AMS performance, issues, and improvement initiatives.
Manage expectations and ensure stakeholder satisfaction.
Partner with the global AMS team to ensure adherence to global governance, frameworks, and best practices.
Share regional insights and best practices to contribute to global process improvements.
Leverage regional and global tools and frameworks to enhance regional AMS capabilities.
Identify opportunities for process optimization and automation within the regional AMS function.
Lead and implement improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service quality.
Monitor and measure the impact of process improvements.
Lead and develop a high-performing AMS team, providing coaching, mentorship, and performance feedback.
Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning within the team.
Provide regular reports on AMS performance to regional and global leadership.
Analyze data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement.
Develop and present recommendations to optimize AMS operations.
Financial Management:
Manage the regional AMS budget, tracking expenses and ensuring cost-effectiveness.
Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives.
Own the regional transition to sustain process for new and updated applications, ensuring a seamless handover from project teams to ongoing support.
Define and enforce criteria for solution stabilization before transitioning to support.
Collaborate with project teams, application owners, and vendors to ensure a smooth transition, including knowledge transfer, documentation, and training.
Lead war room meetings during critical production incidents, prioritizing actions, coordinating resources, and ensuring thorough Root Cause Analysis (RCA) is conducted to prevent recurrence. This includes clear communication with stakeholders, efficient escalation procedures, and post-incident reviews.
