Overview:
The Solution Architect at Bunge is a technology-focused position requiring a deep understanding of both application and systems architecture, with an emphasis on the latter. The Senior Solution Architect will have a significant impact on the company's technology landscape, providing technical leadership, setting, and overseeing solutions with both internal teams and third-party partners. This role is crucial to the systems build team and the broader company technology organization, collaborating closely with other senior and non-senior solution architects, enterprise architecture, business technology partners, business and system analysts, stakeholders, and business and engineering groups. This individual contributor role focuses primarily on technology solution aspects.
Bunge builds systems for a diverse range of business domains, including Supply Chain, Freight, Logistics, Commercial, Agribusiness, Food Solutions, Origination, Sustainability, Financial and Credit, Risk, Industrial Operations, Safety, and Corporate Systems (HR, Finance, Procurement, Legal, and more). - Demonstrated advanced problem-solving skills.
- Close collaboration with Enterprise Architects to ensure alignment of solutions with the overall company technology strategy.
- Proven ability to effectively engage diverse engineering functions, business stakeholders, and third-party technology partners in collaborative solution design.
- Establishes technology standards and best practices, ensuring high-quality solution design and implementation (performance, scalability, security, maintainability, documentation).
- Leads technical engagement with third-party partners, validating solutions and ensuring adherence to company technology standards.
- Excels in managing multiple parallel development streams.
- Maintains a technology-agnostic mindset grounded in practical experience, with a solid technical foundation in one or more of the following areas:
- Java, .NET, or other ecosystems
- Cloud engineering (GCP preferred, AWS)
- SAP
- Salesforce
- Integration platforms (e.g., MuleSoft, Tibco, SAP BTP)
- Structured and unstructured data concepts
- BI solutions (e.g., Tableau, MS Power BI)
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required. A Master's degree is a plus.
- 12+ years of experience in technology.
- 5+ years of experience in Solution, Systems, or Application Architecture.
- Excellent English language proficiency for daily communication.
- Understanding of design patterns and modern architectures (e.g., microservices, micro frontends).
- Experience with relevant tools and platforms like Azure DevOps or Bamboo.
- Solid understanding of industry-standard protocols and formats (e.g., RESTful, SOAP, XML, JSON, AMQP, JMS, delimited, OAuth).
- Good knowledge of API and integration layers, including API patterns, queues, and messaging.
- Proficiency with relational databases (e.g., AlloyDB, PostgreSQL, Oracle).
- Experience with Agile methodologies and best practices, including Scrum framework experience.
- Practical experience with code review, refactoring, design patterns, design-driven development, continuous deployment, and highly scalable applications.
