Senior Legal Counsel

A Day In The Life:
The Senior Counsel – LATAM plays a crucial role in providing legal counsel and support to Bunge's LATAM business operations concerning food solutions transactions. (“business”). This highly professional individual provides legal advice and support on a diversified scope and expertise based on the nature and requirements of the business team.

What You'll Be Doing:
•    Provide legal advice and counsel to business units and functional teams on a wide range of corporate, commercial, labor and employment, regulatory and litigation matters, included but not limited to mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, strategic alliances, and commercial transactions.
•    Negotiate, draft, and review contracts, including supply agreements, transfer, handling and storage agreements, service agreements, and transportation related agreements.
•    Provide legal support for real estate and M&A transactions.
•    Conduct legal due diligence and drafting and negotiating transaction documents
•    Advice on legal aspects of domestic business transactions
•    Collaborate with external counsel and other professionals to ensure the company's legal interests are protected
•    Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards related to assigned corporate and commercial transactions.
•    Represent Bunge in negotiations with external parties, including customers, suppliers, and regulators.
•    Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business leaders, finance, operations, centers of excellence (“COE’s”) and other legal professionals on the global legal team, to provide comprehensive legal support on various projects and initiatives.
•    Provide training on legal matters applicable to the business day-to-day activities as well as on internal legal guidelines and/or policies. Provide legal advice regarding litigation and employment matters and management of litigation cases
•    Coordinate and implement global, regional projects together with US, Europe or Asia legal team members

Skills/Experience Requirements:
•    Strong understanding of corporate and commercial law, including contracts, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and regulatory compliance.
•    Excellent negotiation, drafting, and analytical skills.
•    Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, global environment.
•    Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research tools.
•    Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
•    10+ years of experience in corporate and commercial law, preferably with a combination of law firm and in-house experience in an food solutions or related industry."
