This role conduct fundamental analysis and establish short and long term supply & demand on grain related field covering all major Asia destinations to provide in-depth market intelligence and strategic insights to commercial team.

Accountabilities :

  • Monitor global and regional grain markets, tracking supply and demand dynamics, price movements, and geopolitical events that impact grain trade.
  • Analyze data from diverse sources, including crop conditions, weather patterns, government reports, industry data, and news articles, to provide comprehensive market assessments.
  • Forecast regional and global grain trade flows, identifying potential shifts and opportunities. Ensure timely entry of necessary data and updates including but not limited to macro indicators/trades done/price database maintenance/animal database input/crop etc.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance industry models and indicators to support trading strategies and business development initiatives. Understand livestock models for Asia countries based on animal nutrition and feed consumption.
  • Collaborate closely with commercial desks, traders, key customers, and logistics teams to provide timely insights and support informed decision-making.
  • Lead and contribute to global research projects, continuously enhancing the organization's analytical capabilities and market understanding. Drive weekly Asia grain meeting and be able to deliver into global team.
  • Stay current with industry news, regulatory changes, and technological advancements relevant to the grain market. Continuously strive to improve information sources, find new ways of validating / challenging assumptions and work with other functions to enhance data management and analysis.

 

Requirement : 

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in commodities research, market analysis, or a similar role within the agricultural sector, with a proven track record of analyzing global grain markets.
  • Bachelor's degree or above in Agri-business, Economics, Finance, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of global grain markets, including supply chains, trade policies, and price drivers.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret large, dynamic datasets and identify key trends.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences.
  • Strong critical thinking, judgment, and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities with tight deadlines
  • High level of initiative, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Experience with programming languages such as Python is considered a strong advantage.
  • Self-motivated, resilient and independent individual; Ability to work collaboratively as part of a global team
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, basic programming a plus (VBA or Python)
  • Able to identify business needs and translate them into relevant solutions in terms of systems, models and market analysis.
