Role Purpose Statement Manage Bunge’s sales access to Cotton business in Chinese private and state-owned companies including their affiliates in overseas markets. In this role, you will be based in Shanghai China and will report directly to VP Cotton Trading. 
 
 
 
Main Accountabilities •          Promote marketing and sales from all Bunge’s cotton origins into China;
•          Manage key account relationships particularly China State Reserve, Chinatex and other SOEs and private sectors;
•          In the case of China state reserve, this position will represent Bunge’s interest in order to maintain our reputation as a preferred supplier;
•          Enhance sales network by adding prospective clients;
•          Manage counterparties risk (protect Bunge from counterparties over-extending their capacity to perform either bilaterally or in aggregate across the industry);
•         Be actively trading ZCE under direction of the global strategic trading desk;
•          Managing the relationship with various service providers to operate a stock and sale programme through the free trade zone;
•          Fundamental analysis with regards to price, production and demand;
•          Cultivate relationships with government agencies in order to understand and predict Chinese government policy with regard to the textiles industry and cotton production;
•          Coach and mentor direct report(s), delegating certain customer accounts to them;
•          Actively solving supply chain issues arising around the execution of contracts;
•          Managing the certification process for China inspection and quarantine (CIQ) addressing any potential downgrade issues proactively to maintain our A grade status;
•          Attend numerous global cotton conference around the year;
•          Travel to visit clients across China and Vietnam as needed.
 
 
 
 
 
 
Education & Experience Requirements
• University education or similar, with a degree obtained in, preferably, either Mathematics, Economics or Business Studies. 15 years working experience in commodity trading industry and 5 years in MNC environment;
• Proven track record in China cotton sales & marketing based on fundamental understanding of global cotton flows, quality and time spreads;
• Understanding of and experience working in the Cotton trading company;
• Good working knowledge of trading instruments, hedging strategies, options and contract terms, experience and expertise in ZCE cotton trading and risk management;
• Strong numerical and analytical skills;
• Good command of English and Chinese (written/ spoken);
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills;
• Influencing and relationship-building skills, strong customer engagement and management skills.
Accountability
• Directly responsible for: Coordinating the cotton desk resources.
• Accountable for: market penetration, increasing customer intimacy, deploying sustainability programs and proactively managing counterparty risks.
• Financial responsibility: Contributing to financial results of cotton desk.
