Corporate Development Analyst

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Corporate Development Analyst. In this position you will be responsible for supporting the Corporate Development planning initiatives of the company, including conducting research and financial analysis and providing support to business units as necessary.

What you?ll do

Coordinate and lead unique projects related to data management, manipulation, analysis, and interpretation; M&A activity; and projects of a strategic & cross-divisional nature.
Consult with other members of the Finance team on an ongoing basis, to identify management information requirements to complete historical financial analysis of valuation targets and compares to industry.
Coordinate and prepare financial statements, filing requirements and KPIs.
Perform analysis related to commodity position and counterparty risk.
Ensure compliance with internal controls.
Coordinate the gathering of market intelligence and industry information, and present findings related to data collected within the business & industry.
Coordinate the due diligence process for business acquisitions.
Assist with the annual budgeting process with respect to volume budgets at country origination facilities and port terminals.
What you bring to our team

Post-secondary degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Agriculture, or Economics.
Minimum three years of progressively responsible experience in finance and/or accounting within a complex automated data environment.
Agribusiness knowledge or experience in the agricultural sector considered an asset.
Proven and effective time management skills.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Demonstrated critical thinking ability with awareness of business interconnections.
Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and data analytics.
Enrollment in or intention to pursue an accounting or finance designation considered an asset.
This position may have a rotation into other finance areas at a similar level to broaden knowledge and experience required for analyzing strategic business opportunities.
