Maintenance Engineer (Planning & Reliability) (Thrace, Kirklareli, Turkey)
Are you a skilled Mechanical Engineer looking to drive efficiency and reliability through meticulous planning and hands-on engagement? Do you thrive in a dynamic manufacturing environment, eager to make a tangible impact by improving systems, optimizing resources, and leading a small team?
As our Maintenance Engineer (Planning & Reliability) at our vibrant Thrace facility in Lüleburgaz, you will be instrumental in bridging the gap between strategic maintenance planning and operational execution. This role requires a balanced approach, blending your engineering expertise with strong organizational and planning skills to ensure the peak performance of our assets.
Bunge: Leaders in Agribusiness, Food, and Ingredients
Bunge is a global leader in sourcing, processing, and supplying oilseed and grain products and ingredients. Founded in 1818, Bunge connects farmers to consumers—and customers to solutions—to deliver essential food, feed, and fuel to the world. We operate in a stable, essential industry, offering a dynamic and international work environment where safety is paramount and continuous improvement is a way of life.
The Thrace Facility: Our Hub of Activity
Our Bunge facility in Lüleburgaz is a crucial part of our global supply chain, transforming raw materials into essential food and feed products. It's a busy plant with complex machinery, offering a constant drive for efficiency and safety. You'll be joining a dedicated team of 6 engineers and 19 technicians in our Maintenance Department, where collaboration is key.
Your Role: A Blend of Desk and Field, Driving Improvement
As our Maintenance Engineer (Planning & Reliability), you will be instrumental in optimizing our maintenance processes, securing equipment reliability, and contributing directly to our continuous success. This involves proactive maintenance, timely repairs, and effectively supporting preventive and predictive maintenance programs. You will serve as the crucial link between the planning office and the physical plant, ensuring maintenance activities are well-prepared, executed, and documented in SAP. You will also provide direct supervision and guidance to two blue-collar technicians responsible for our technical warehouse, ensuring optimal material management. You will report directly to the M&R Manager.
What Makes This Role Engaging and Fun?
Our plant is actively working to enhance its use of modern reliability tools and SAP PM, and you'll be highly involved in this exciting transformation! We frequently utilize advanced predictive maintenance techniques such as thermal inspection, vibration analysis, and ultrasonic devices. This means a rich learning environment with diverse processes, challenges, and exposure to cutting-edge maintenance technologies. If you love to learn, improve, and tackle complex puzzles, you'll thrive here!
Key Responsibilities (What You'll Do):
- Maintenance Planning: Develop, coordinate, and manage weekly maintenance plans for both mechanical and electrical teams, ensuring efficient execution and strict adherence to established standards and safety protocols.
- SAP Management: Actively leverage SAP (particularly the PM module) for efficient work order management, including the accurate input and transfer of all physical maintenance activity data.
- Field Engagement: Serve as the crucial link between planning and physical execution. Approximately half your time will be spent in the plant, collecting equipment data, verifying information, and ensuring alignment between planned activities and actual physical work.
- Technical Warehouse & Spare Parts: Oversee and optimize the technical warehouse operations, including inventory control, organization, and efficient material cost management. Ensure the timely availability and accurate quantity of spare parts.
- Team Supervision: Provide direct leadership and guidance to our two blue-collar technicians within the technical warehouse, fostering a productive and skilled team.
- Reliability Support: Actively contribute to the development and implementation of preventive and predictive maintenance programs, collaborating with the Reliability Engineer to enhance overall equipment effectiveness and reduce downtime.
- Technical Expertise: Apply your engineering knowledge to troubleshoot complex issues, advise on long-term maintenance needs, and identify potential scheduling imbalances, proposing effective solutions.
- Safety & Continuous Improvement: Ensure all work is carried out safely, prioritizing the well-being of our team, and continuously seek opportunities for process optimization.
Who You Are (Let's See if We're a Match):
We're looking for a proactive, detail-oriented, and communicative engineer who is eager to learn and drive improvement. You connect easily with others, valuing respectful dialogue with colleagues and technicians across all departments. You are a natural bridge-builder between technical expertise and planning execution.
Furthermore, you have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- At least 1-2 years of professional experience within a maintenance department in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- A strong technical background with solid mechanical knowledge and basic understanding of electrical systems.
- Familiarity with basic SAP (especially the PM module) is a significant advantage; however, we are open to teaching and developing your skills in this area for candidates with strong foundational knowledge.
- Sufficient command of spoken and written English to communicate effectively within an international environment (first interview with Talent Acquisition Specialist will take place in English)
- (Near)native fluency in Turkish.
- A strong problem-solving mindset, excellent communication, and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, managing diverse tasks and projects.
What We Offer (It's a Great Place to Work):
Joining Bunge means becoming part of a dynamic, international organization where your contributions truly matter. We are committed to fostering personal and professional growth, offering a challenging yet rewarding environment where safety is always our top priority.
Asides salary, we strongly believe in offering a comprehensive and attractive overall package, focusing on your development, benefits, and quality of work-life:
- A challenging role with significant opportunities for learning and direct impact on improving maintenance and reliability practices.

- Gift checks for religious holidays.
- An Annual Incentive Plan (AIP) of 10%.
- Shuttle bus service to the factory from Lüleburgaz's main streets, making your commute convenient.
- Work-Life Balance: This role is primarily a day shift (08:00 - 17:00), Monday - Friday, allowing for a good work-life balance. While dynamic situations might occasionally require your presence during evenings or weekends in case of an emergency stop, this is not a regular occurrence.
