BUNGE has an exciting opportunity available for a Project Process Engineer Renewable Fuels in Cartagena.
As a Project Process Engineer specializing in Renewable Fuels, you will play a vital role in developing and executing complex projects within our Spanish region. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the advancement of sustainable fuel technologies, from concept to commissioning and beyond. You will be a key technical leader, driving innovation and ensuring operational excellence in our renewable fuels production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Leadership: Lead and manage process engineering aspects of renewable fuel projects, including new technology implementation and optimization of existing processes. This includes taking ownership of small to medium-sized projects and providing workstream leadership within larger, more complex initiatives.
- Technical Expertise: Provide in-depth process engineering knowledge related to oils chemistry, engineering, and operations to support project development, execution, and troubleshooting. Evaluate the feasibility of proposed engineering designs, tests, and equipment.
- Collaboration and Coordination: Work effectively with internal teams (engineering, operations, procurement) and external partners (technology providers, contractors, consultants) throughout all project phases. This includes coordinating project activities, facilitating communication, and ensuring alignment on project goals and deliverables.
- Cost-Effectiveness and Best Practices: Champion cost-effective solutions and ensure alignment with industry best practices. Recommend changes and updates to existing processes to improve efficiency, optimize performance, and deliver maximum value to our customers.
- Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the continuous improvement of Bunge's renewable fuel production processes by identifying opportunities for optimization, implementing new technologies, and staying abreast of industry advancements.
- Project Management: Plan, organize, and execute engineering projects within defined objectives, budgets, and timelines. Develop detailed action plans, manage resources effectively, and monitor progress against key milestones.
- Technical Problem Solving: Lead and participate in the resolution of complex engineering challenges, including conflicting design requirements, material selection, and operational issues.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation. Prepare regular progress reports and communicate project status effectively to stakeholders.
- Technology Partnering: Develop and maintain strong relationships with technology partners to enhance capacity, optimize portfolio mix, and achieve optimal manufacturing outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in process engineering within the renewable fuels or related industries. Deep knowledge and expertise in oils chemistry, engineering, and operations are essential.
- Proven track record of successfully leading and managing engineering projects, including planning, execution, and commissioning.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a matrix organization, collaborating with cross-functional teams and influencing stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Proactive, results-oriented, and highly motivated.
- Ability to travel approximately 25% of the time.
