A Day in the Life:

The Plant Analyst role will support the local plant manager and their team to ensure data integrity, a strong management control environment, operational analysis, and data-based decision support.

 

Position Details:

Primary responsibilities include assisting with inventory management, receiving/shipping controls, analysis of processing yields and shrinks, reporting of key performance indicators (KPI's), providing accounting inputs for month end accounting closes, and supporting other local plant administrative processes. In addition to supporting the local management team, this position will have an integral communications role with corporate support functions. The position will report to the Plant Admin Supervisor.

 

 

What you'll be doing:

  • Plan and report physical inventory observations (Canola, Non-GMO & Nexera seed, meal, and oil, bulk oils, chemicals, supplies) in accordance with the company's physical inventory policy and local standard operating procedures (SOP's) and establish clean month end cut-offs with respect to inbound, outbound, and on-track inventory.
  • Plan and perform other periodic inventories that support production planning and scheduling and ensure accurate data for customer service and supply chain management.
  • Ensuring that local key internal controls are properly and effectively executed with respect to receiving and shipping, scale system integrity, capture of weights and grades, as well as internal measures of inventory transfers and product flows. Facilitate education and disciplines to support management controls including procure to pay (BPOpen), travel and expense reporting, P-Cards, and Sarbanes- Oxley key control executions.
  • Monitor production yields and shrinks and analyze and investigate significant variances from standards. Monitor rework and scrap inventory and ensure SAP records are correctly recorded.
  • Collect and report daily, weekly, and monthly production data and KPR's in an efficient, accurate, and timely manner to support monthly scorecard development.
  • Provide various inputs to monthly forecasting for plant expenses and variances - e.g. special maintenance, utility usage, known inventory variances.
  • Coordinate local administration of IT infrastructure (server back-ups, PC Rotation program, network equipment, time keeping and voice systems) in close coordination with the BNA (Bunge North America) IT team.
  • Local liaison to Bunge payroll services to facilitate time keeping processes and other information.
  • Assist with the implementation of new plant systems and processes and support training of new employees with an emphasis on data integrity that facilitate accurate and timely reporting and analysis.
  • Assist with special projects, as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

 

Skills/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, operations management, related degree preferred or commensurate experience.
  • 3 years minimum related experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team and collaborative environment.
  • Exposure to using enterprise business applications such as SAP or comparable system and capability to become a power user.
  • Experience with end-user tools - e.g. MS Excel, Word, Outlook.
  • Versatility, flexibility, and analytical skills are essential.
