Data Engineer 

 

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Data Engineer with expertise in data engineering, data modeling, and data products. The Data Engineer will work closely with a multidisciplinary Agile team to build high-quality data pipelines, reusable data models, and trusted data products that enable reporting, self-service analytics, and data-driven decision making across the enterprise. This role requires strong technical problem-solving skills, collaboration across business and technology teams, and a passion for transforming complex data into scalable analytical solutions that drive business value.

 

Main Accountabilities

 

  • Design, develop, optimize, and maintain data pipelines, data models, and analytical datasets that support enterprise reporting, self-service analytics, and business decision-making.
  • Solve complex data challenges and deliver trusted, high-quality data solutions that enable business users to generate insights and achieve strategic objectives.
  • Create and maintain governed data products that provide reusable, business-ready data assets for analytics, reporting, and advanced analytical use cases.
  • Foster a culture of sharing, reuse, documentation, and design for scale while improving the stability, quality, and operational efficiency of data and analytical solutions.
  • Lead the evaluation, implementation, and adoption of emerging tools, technologies, and best practices in data engineering, analytics engineering, and data product development to improve team productivity and business value.

  • Skilled in data engineering, Python, dbt, SQL, data analysis, analytical skills, teamwork, and communication skills.  
  • Can design and develop scalable data models, analytical datasets, and data products that support reporting, self-service analytics, and advanced analytics use cases.
  • Strong understanding of dimensional modeling, semantic modeling, and analytics-oriented data design.
  • Experience building trusted, reusable data products for reporting and business consumption.
  • Understanding of BI platforms such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar analytics tools.
  • Familiarity with metric governance, business definitions, and certified data assets.
  • Data mesh concepts 

 

Education & Experience

 

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Computer Science, MIS, or Engineering preferred
  • 3+ years of experience working in data engineering
  • Expertise in SQL and data analysis and experience with at least one programming language (Python or Scala preferred)
  • Experience developing and maintaining data warehouses in big data solutions
  • Experience with developing solutions on cloud computing services and infrastructure in the data and analytics space (preferred)
  • Database development experience using BigQuery and experience with a variety of relational, and cloud database technologies
  • Conceptual knowledge of data and analytics, such as dimensional modeling, ETL, reporting tools, data governance, data warehousing, structured and unstructured data.
  • Big Data development experience using Hive, Impala or Spark
  • Exposure to machine learning, data science, computer vision, artificial intelligence, statistics, and/or applied mathematics
  • Passionate about Agile software processes, data-driven development, reliability, and experimentation
  • Experience working on a collaborative Agile product team
  • Self-motivated with strong problem-solving and learning skills
  • Flexibility to changes in work direction as the project develops
  • Strong work ethic; ability to work at an abstract level and gain consensus
  • Fluent in English.
