What will you do as a Junior QFS Officer?
As a Junior QFS Officer, you will play a crucial supporting role within our Quality & Food Safety (QFS) department for Lecithin EMEA. Your main tasks will revolve around ensuring compliance, providing excellent customer service for quality-related inquiries, and maintaining our quality systems and documentation. This includes:
- Serving as a key point of contact for customer inquiries regarding quality specifications and requirements, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
- Supporting the creation of production instructions and forms, evaluating laboratory results required for batch release (30% of time).
- Assisting customers during the approval process by accurately filling out questionnaires and answering standard QFS questions (30% of time).
- Organizing the sampling process for customers, coordinating with external sampling teams, and following up on shipments (10% of time).
- Actively maintaining and updating quality and food safety documentation and procedures, ensuring they are current and compliant (10% of time).
- Archiving and registering quality information and customer-provided data (10% of time).
- Performing SAP transactions to ensure on-time batch release when the QFS Emulsifiers team is unavailable (10% of time).
You will contribute to handling customer-specific requirements, managing non-conformities, and the continuous improvement and maintenance of our quality and food safety management systems. This role is primarily based in Zaandam.

What do you bring to the table as a Junior QFS Officer?
We are looking for someone who is analytical, structured, proactive, and strongly customer focused. Specifically, we are looking for:
- Education: A completed vocational diploma (HBO) or a university bachelor's degree in Food Technology, Food Safety, or a related field.
- Experience: At least 1 year of relevant experience in a food quality role, preferably within a B2B environment. Experience in customer service is a significant plus.
- Skills:
- Solid understanding of Quality and Food Safety principles, coupled with a genuine eagerness to continuously learn and quickly adapt to new information and changing circumstances.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel, and familiarity with ERP systems (SAP preferable).
- Excellent command of the English language, both spoken and written. Other languages are a plus.
- Strong communication, planning, and organizational skills, with a collaborative team spirit.
- A practical and hands-on approach, ready to actively contribute and take initiative.
- Ability to work accurately and meticulously.
