What we do in the Plant

In the Amsterdam harbor, our raw material arrives from various regions across the world, from North and South America, and Europe. They are transported through sea cargo, received and processed in our plant into meal and oil to supply the needs for feed and food of the region we serve. The fore(wo)man and team have a critical role in the plant. They are in charge of setting an excellent level of reliability throughout the full production process, ensuring to supply our customers with the end product.

Daily responsibilities and activities

Together with 2 Fore(wo)men you coordinate 10 mechanics and deal with the technical execution of mechanical maintenance. Your goal is to prevent malfunctions and minimize non-scheduled work stops by optimizing, continuously improving and implementing the reliability and safety structure on the everyday execution.

  • Realizing predictive, preventive and corrective maintenance
  • Responsible for the adequate compliancy with, and management of personnel, company and food safety, alignment to quality, health, safety, environment requirements and regulations
  • Accurate reporting on planning, cost and budget, and work preparation
  • Providing technical support to mechanics and evaluate the completed work with them
  • Support development of employees

What we expect you to bring

  • An MBO+ level technical education (such as Mechanical or Mechatronics)
  • Proven experience in similar team lead positions
  • Good knowledge of maintenance programs
  • Strong communication skills in Dutch and in English both verbal and written
  • Beneficial are experience with RCFA/FCM/FMEA

You are a motivator and coordinator at heart. You are no-nonsense and balanced. Vigor and flexibility are competencies you would recognize in yourself. You like to be creative and think of solutions that are not standard and bring a higher level of reliability for the plant, yourself and others.
