We seek someone with the ability to steer a team, take decisive action, make critical decisions, and assertively implement changes.

The Role

In the heart of the Amsterdam harbor, where soybeans from Brazil, South America, Canada, and Ukraine are transformed into soy meal and oil, our facility operates at peak efficiency. Utilizing tools like CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) and SAP, you will oversee all maintenance activities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and Implement Maintenance Strategies: Create and execute maintenance strategies focusing on predictive and preventive maintenance. Use CMMS and SAP to track and manage maintenance activities.
  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis: Lead RCFA (Root Cause Failure Analysis) and BDA (Breakdown Analysis) to identify equipment failure causes and develop solutions to prevent future issues.

What your manager has to say about the role

"This role is perfect for someone who thrives in an industrial environment and isn't afraid to get their hands dirty. You need to be adaptable, ready to remake your plans on the fly. Every day brings new challenges and opportunities for improvement. Our plant may be a bit dated, but that just means there’s a lot of potential for enhancements. Creativity and outside-the-box thinking are crucial here. Despite its age, this is the best plant I've ever worked in—very no-nonsense and the kind of place where the industrial environment feels like home. Our team is diverse, with members from all sorts of backgrounds, and everyone pulls together to make things better each day."

Requirements

In this role, an understanding of mechanical, electrical, and process equipment maintenance is essential. The ability to navigate and effectively use systems such as SAP and CMMS for maintenance management will be crucial. The Reliability Supervisor must be strong in conducting thorough root cause analyses, bringing a keen eye for detail to identify and implement effective solutions.

Leadership plays a significant role in this position. Inspiring and motivating a team, coupled with strong communication skills, will ensure seamless collaboration with various departments. A proactive approach to identifying and addressing maintenance issues is vital, as is the capacity to drive and manage changes and improvements.

Adaptability is key, as the dynamic nature of the plant demands flexibility in responding to changing priorities. Meticulous planning and execution of maintenance activities are vital to uphold the high standards of reliability and performance. Some flexibility is required also in regards to staying on the job longer in case of emergencies and the willingness to be on call once every 6 weeks.

Additionally, a degree in mechanical engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience, is required. Proven experience in Reliability Engineering or Maintenance within the food / process or related industry will set the foundation for success in this role. Fluency in English is a must, while proficiency in Dutch is preferred.
