POSITION SUMMARY:        
This role is responsible for the procurement, supply chain strategies, and sustainability initiatives for the Bunge corn mill in Atchison, KS        

 

CORE FUNCTIONS:          
·         Oversee procurement and origination strategies involving yellow corn and other commodities for Atchison, KS        
·         Part of a small team that leads, manages and delivers on our Milling merchandising strategy in order to maximize value through procurement of milling quality corn from producer partners and elevators on a daily basis        
·         Lead and execute our Sustainability and Traceability Programs within Bunge Milling         

 

KEY JOB DUTIES:                
·         Manage yellow corn positions daily to maximize Grain Commodity Variances        
·         Coordinate closely with Commercial and Sales Teams to ensure proper origination strategies for Grain Commodity Variances and Prime Product pricing strategies         
·         Work closely with Operations to manage monthly working capital and quality for corn inventories        
·         Maintain the daily position and ensure all grain policies are managed appropriately        
·         Position will work closely with elevator managers in determining hours, managing space, and receiving schedules        
·         Responsible for bid management and purchasing strategies        
·         Prepare weekly Commodity Variance estimates        
·         Annual business plan forecasting        
·         Work closely with local seed companies to determine best milling quality hybrids for local corn production        
·         Work closely with producer partners to maximize our Centerfield program and related programs        
·         Lead and execute on US Milling grower facing regenerative ag and carbon programs, as well as other future initiatives within the sustainability space

REQUIRED EDUCATION/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:        
·         Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Business, Agricultural Economics, Business, Finance or an applicable related field        
·         1+ years of experience in procurement or related commercial roles preferred        
·         Understanding of hedging on the Chicago Board of Trade, grain contracting and logistics is required.        
·         Proven leadership qualities (people and organizational)        
·         Ability to prioritize, multi-task and maintain flexibility in a fast-paced, changing environment        
·         Exceptional communication (verbal/written) skills with ability to interact effectively with all levels throughout the organization        
·         Proficiency with applicable computer software packages, including Microsoft Office applications        
·       Excellent customer service and negotiation skills        
        
SCHEDULE:        
·         Full-time position, hours worked as required to manage business.        
·         Potential for 10-20% travel
