POSITION OVERVIEW

The Multi-Craft Mechanic safely performs mechanical and electrical maintenance activities to insure proper operation of plant machinery, equipment, buildings, and grounds to increase reliability and overall quality of production. The ideal candidate will have had at least two years of general maintenance experience within a refinery or comparable industrial setting.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·Repairs and replaces PLC equipment, tanks, pumps, motors, heat exchangers, agitators, boilers, air compressors, valves, pipelines, and other plant equipment

·Fabricates and welds piping, pipe fittings, equipment, and machinery

·Conducts preventative and predictive maintenance tasks

·Troubleshoots issues with electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems

·Performs laser alignments, vibration analysis; lubricate machinery, pumps, motors, agitators, etc.

·Repairs fire and safety alarms and systems as needed

·Assists E&I technicians when needed

QUALIFICATIONS

·High school diploma or GED

·Related technical certificate and/or Associate degree is preferred

·Must have two to three years of work experience in a related maintenance craft such as Industrial Mechanic, Welder, Pipefitter, Millwright, or Electrician

·Self-Starter with good interpersonal skills

·Ability to read and interpret various directives that may be presented in written, oral, diagram, or schedule format such as safety rules, operating instructions, drawings, production schedules, etc.

·Ability to complete routine reports and correspondence.

·Ability to contribute to Root Cause Failure analysis reviews

·Efficient in defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions

·Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

·Able to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, fractions, percentages, area, circumference, volume, and flow; Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry

·Experience with a CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) or comparable ERP such as SAP is preferred

·Knowledge of NFPA70E rules and regulations for electrical safety is a plus

·Must be able to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and on-call as needed
