Role Purpose Statement:
The Maintenance Technician at Bunge Grain Services (Bunbury) is responsible for ensuring the optimal functionality, safety, and reliability of mechanical systems and equipment throughout the facility. Leveraging expertise in mechanical engineering, this individual conducts regular inspections, performs routine maintenance, and swiftly responds to breakdowns, guaranteeing the uninterrupted flow of grain services. By upholding the highest standards in mechanical maintenance and safety protocols, they play a pivotal role in supporting our mission to efficiently process and move grains for the global market.

 

Main Accountabilities:


1. Preventative maintenance of plant and equipment in accordance with manufacturer’s recommendations and manuals with a focus on maintaining safety and maximizing production:
o Understand the interchangeability of mechanical parts.
o Plan, schedule and organize own work within the requirements of the work plan and coordinate with other parties as required.
o Complete tasks assigned based on priority.
o Ensure assigned trades work is completed safely and in accordance with quality requirements, company policy and all statutory requirements.
o Initiate and complete Work Orders and ensure timely sign off / close off for completed work along with relevant feedback information and other reports as required.

3. Resolve operational or technical equipment problems to minimize manufacturing interruptions resulting from equipment breakdowns/failures:
o Inspect and report all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirement needs.
o Facilitate daily safety pre-start meetings.
o Provide immediate responses to emergency work orders.
o Provide trouble-shooting expertise as required.
o Assess and arrange job requirements.
o Provide daily feedback and reports to Maintenance Manager on progress and work completed against schedule and reasons for variance, recording delays and recommending action to eliminate future delays.

o Develop and maintain positive work relationships within the team.
o Contribute ideas for continuous improvement and assist in the development of job procedures as required.
o Supervise Equipment operators as required.
o Contribute to the efficient and effective operation of the maintenance team, including maintaining punctuality, participating in flexible hours arrangements for maintenance and occasions of after-hours breakdowns, and providing shift cover as required.


6. Country Harvest Operations
Assist in daily operations of the Country Sites, signing Job Hazard Analysis forms, testing and trying Lock Out and Tag Out tasks being performed by contractors and employees.
o Facilitate daily equipment inspections.
o Perform planned and unplanned maintenance and repairs.
o Operate equipment, in-loading and out-loading.
o Test and Try all Lock Out and Tag Out (LOTO) requests.
o Understand and authorize Job Hazard Analysis documents.


Knowledge and Technical Competencies:
• Demonstrate knowledge, understanding in mechanical equipment
• Current driver's license.
• Computer proficiency.
• High Risk training include Forklift, Dogging, Boom Type Elevating Work platform (WP), Basic Rigging.
• P1 Pneumatics
• Lock Out Tag Out VOC
• Confined Space Ticket

Education/Experience:
• Minimum of Cert III Engineering Trades
• High level of interpersonal skills, including assertiveness, communication and time management.
• Knowledge of CMMS, preferably SAP
• Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Highly organised and able to manage multiple priorities
