This is a fixed plant mechanical fitter role based in Bunbury port responsible for the maintenance of plant and equipment in accordance with manufacturer’s recommendations and manuals to maintain safety and maximizing production. This role will contribute to the reliability of Bunge equipment and mobile machinery in compliance with OH&S.

Main Accountabilities

 

Preventative Maintenance of Plant and Equipment 

 

  • Plan, schedule and organize own work within the requirements of the work plan, and coordinate with other parties as required.
  • Complete tasks assigned on the basis of priority.
  • Ensure assigned trades work is completed safely and in accordance with quality requirements, company policy and all statutory requirements.
  • Initiate and complete Work Orders and ensure timely sign off / close off for completed work along with relevant feedback information and other reports as required.

 

Resolve Operational and Technical Equipment Issues 

 

  • Inspect and report all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirement needs. 
  • Facilitate daily safety pre-start meetings.
  • Provide immediate responses to emergency work orders.
  • Provide trouble-shooting expertise as required to minimize operational disruptions due to equipment breakdowns and failures.
  • Assess and arrange job requirements.
  • Provide daily feedback and reports to Maintenance Manager on progress and work completed against schedule and reasons for variance, recording delays and recommending action to eliminate future delays.

Port Terminal Operations 

 

  • Assist in daily operations of the Port terminal, signing Job Hazard Analysis forms, testing and trying Lock Out and Tag Out tasks being performed by contractors and employees. 
  • Control room operations using SAC Bulkmetrix commodity system.
  • Commodity transfers, in-loading and out-loading.
  • Utilizing Bosch closed-circuit camera system during operations.
  • Operating SAC Bulkmetrix system for shipping exporting commodities.
  • Visual inspection of SAC Bulkmetrix trends e.g. commodity tonnage, machinery and equipment. 
  • Test and Try all Lock Out and Tag Out (LOTO) requests.
  • Understand and authorize Job Hazard Analysis documents.

Job Requirement

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
  • Desirable to have completed some pneumatic-hydraulic training as well as to be able to read schematics.
  • Understanding of internal policies and procedures 
  • Excellent computer proficiency (Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Experience in safety leadership coaching and mentoring.
  • Experience in Bulkmetrix commodity management system in all aspects of export shipping, internal commodity transfers will be highly regarded.
  • To be able to work independently or as part of a team
  • High level of interpersonal skills, including assertiveness, communication and time management.
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform Bunge terminal operations.
  • Adhere to Western Australian road rules and Bunge Vehicle Use Procedure. 
  • To be physically fit.
