The Cube Line operator runs a votator, drum, packaging line and tanks of oil on the lines in the appropriate amounts and weights.  Responsible for producing quality product per production schedule with working knowledge of production equipment and operating safely within established guidelines.

 

Main Accountabilities:

  • Following safety rules and maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Writing work orders for safety items and maintenance issues.
  • The Cube line operator runs a votator, a packaging line and associated equipment. 
  • The Cube line operator runs tanks of oil on the lines in the appropriate amounts and weights as per the schedule from QA approved tanks.
  • The Cube line operator will check the schedule for the next tank, obtain samples and add additives given by the QC laboratory and verify that the temperature of the product is within the designated range before loading. If not, the loader will heat or cool the tank prior to loading.
  • The Cube line operator records operating data such as products and quantities packed, tank gauge readings, and operating times, downtime manually or on the computer. The Cube line operator also records the Lot number of boxes and bags used. The Cube line operator verifies that the amounts pumped reconcile from tank to package.
  •  The operator maintains the recipe prescribed process control parameters according to instrument readings, test results, and knowledge of equipment and procedure. Observes pressure and temperature gauges and moves controls to specified settings to attain rate consistent with efficient and safe operation, according to knowledge of process and equipment.
  • Is responsible for metal detector checks and documentation as per SOP.
  • Replaces and checks filters regularly as per SOP. Documents this on the designated log.
  • All other task as assigned by supervisor or designee.
  • Keep the area clean and completes the sanitation schedule and documentation.
  • The Cube line operator is responsible for Food Safety and Quality by following company Quality Systems and implementing Food Safety in the Finishing department or any department the Cube line operator is assigned to.

 

Knowledge and Technical Competencies:

  • The Cube line operator needs the skill of operation and monitoring. This includes watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.
  • The Cube line operator needs the skill of operation and control. This includes controlling operations of equipment or systems.
  • The Cube line operator needs the skill of reading comprehension. This understands written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.
  • The Cube line operator needs the skill of judgment and decision making. This means considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
  • The Cube line operator needs the skill of troubleshooting when it is needed. This means the ability to determine causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it.
  • The Cube line operator needs the skill of active listening. This means giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times
  • This is a union hourly position; $24.78 per hour.
  • 12-hour shift, 7am to 7pm or 7pm to 7am
  • Required to work every other weekend and holidays.

 

Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent are preferred but not required.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Preferred but not required – completion of the Petrochemical Class at JJC or relative years’ experience.
  • Basic Math Skills
