The Maintenance Manager is responsible for ensuring that the facilities, including all processes and supporting assets used to produce company products, are most effectively maintained throughout their asset lifecycle in order to deliver maximum reliability and operating efficiencies in a safe and environmentally sound way.   This is to be delivered through continued development of the reliability program, preventative and predictive initiatives, alignment of organization with skills and people resources, parts management and expeditious response and remediation of breakdowns, consistent with the principles and practices which align with process safety management, as well as through supporting the specification and installation of new and replacement assets with a focus to safe, operable and maintainable, consistent with Process Safety Management.  Key deliverables include safety performance, process and finishing OEE, and cost of service.  

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Manage execution of repairs and maintenance of the process assets and supporting infrastructure, plant buildings and services consistent with equipment criticalities using the most effective tools of predictive, preventive and RTF, as appropriate.
  • Manage and control repairs and maintenance budget.
  • Manage maintenance staff and contractors.  Ensure skills aligned to complete work safely and professionally.
  • Aligning resources to support a 24/7 operation.
  • Comply with all legal and safety regulatory requirements regarding periodic inspection/certification of critical equipment consistent with the needs of an SQF certified food production facility, which includes processes subject to the requirements, and practices of process safety management.
  • Manage and control spare parts warehouse.
  • Write and manage maintenance related CAR’s
  • Manage/administer the preferred and sole vendor programs (for maintenance)
  • Position assures knowledge, training and compliance to PSM.
  • Maintain equipment in good working order, with a strong focus to asset lifecycle planning and management.
  • Establish computer based maintenance management system to plan and record maintenance, control spare parts inventory and measure/quantify work performed.
  • Encourage and maintain professional rapport with all disciplines of the organization.
  • Improve maintenance standards, challenge pride in work, ensure jobs are completed right first time and deliver expected operational efficiency.
  • Responsible for R&M budget-services/spares ($1.3mm)
  • All other duties as assigned
  • Key contact person for eMaint upgrade and its implementation

Position Requirements:

  • BS Degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Chemical Engineering or equivalent
  • 15+ years maintenance experience in a strong TPM culture or equivalent environment
