Program Overview

The Bunge Finance Talent Program (FTP) is designed to groom future finance leaders by providing highly motivated individuals opportunity to work on diverse and intellectually stimulating assignments. Candidates will be placed in one of the various finance departments based on areas of interest and expertise. The program is sponsored by the CFO and is managed by the Finance Leadership team at Bunge. The road of no two FTP candidates will be the same, each candidate will have significant influence on their path within the organization. The FTP program spans across 7 core functions:


  • Treasury

  • Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Finance Business Partner

  • Controlling

  • Global Internal Audit

  • Business Development

  • Enterprise Risk Management - Market Risk


Range of Responsibilities

Responsible for managing day-to-day activity of an assigned finance role. Work involves supporting or managing assigned finance projects, explore rotations within core finance functions, supporting functional local, regional, or global initiatives, and providing ongoing training, coaching and supervision to staff. Upholds organizational and professional ethical standards and works independently under general direction with extensive latitude for initiative and independent judgment.


Essential Job Duties

  • Performs related work as assigned by the Finance Functional Leader

  • Acts as a Project Manager for assigned projects, and supervises the overall performance of the activities, including identifying and defining issues, developing criteria, reviewing, and analyzing documentation and process, proposing process improvements and documenting processes and procedures. Manages projects/processes working independently with limited supervision

  • Accountable for the results of a large and/or moderately complex project(s). 

  • Performs a variety of complex tasks; Uses best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve products/services or processes. Solves difficult, non-routine problems, which requires analysis, but are not complex; takes a new perspective on existing solutions.

  • Provides proactive feedback regarding the status of projects and any related issues

  • Recommends and effectively introduces analytics solutions for relevant processes

  • Provides training and coaching to staff and may manage staff depending on the assigned finance function, including performance appraisal and individual development activities

  • Develops and maintains intimate knowledge of country operations, Value Chains, locations, financial results, control environment, initiatives, and strategies

  • Builds value added relationships with country / Value Chain management, and acts as key point of contact

  • Pursues professional development opportunities, including internal and external training and professional association memberships, and shares information gained with co-workers


Education and Experience

  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in business, finance, accounting, agricultural economics, and/or a related discipline

  • CFA / CPA / CA / CIA or equivalent certification is a plus

  • Three or more years of full-time experience in treasury, FP&A, auditing, accounting, business analysis, or program evaluation, including one to four years supervisory or project management experience

  • Excellent English skills required. Other foreign languages are a plus

  • Industry knowledge or expertise in a relevant specialty area (e.g., FP&A. Treasury, Internal audit, Accounting, Risk Management, etc.) is desirable

  • Considerable skill in negotiating issues and resolving problems

  • Considerable skill in effective verbal and written communications, including active listening skills and skills for presenting findings and recommendations

  • Ability to explain complex ideas and concepts to internal customers and stakeholders in an easy-to-understand manner

  • Ability to compute and provide key information for management decision making and to understand margin and financial return drivers. Work under general supervision with latitude for independent judgment

  • Ability to establish and maintain harmonious working relationships with co-workers, staff, and external contacts, and to work effectively in a professional team environment

  • Ability to operate in an ambiguous, fast-paced, multi-cultural work environment; to interpret a variety of instructions; solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables and situations where only limited standardization and structure exists

  • Ability to work in an ever-growing global environment with domestic and international travel requirements

  • Skills in conducting international business including any advanced or multiple language abilities

  • Top-tier financial modeling capabilities including derivatives valuation

  • Considerable skill in using Microsoft Office products (i.e., PowerPoint, Excel, Word), SAP.

  • Ability to influence the actions and opinions of others in a desired direction; to exhibit judgment in leading others to worthwhile objectives
