Position Summary:
This role is responsible for direct supervision of the credit and collection staff, monitoring of the company’s overall credit and AR risk position and working directly with the Enterprise Risk Management team to provide financial analysis in support of overall company objectives. 


The position is accountable for all credit and collections management including the consistent application of a credit policy, periodic credit reviews of existing customers, and the assessment of the creditworthiness of potential customers, and working with the local and outsourced team to manage all collections with the goal of minimizing bad debt losses while facilitating commercial activity.   The key to success for this role is the ability to build strong internal relationships with business unit commercial teams and management. A collaborative approach is essential.  


Key relationships with Bunge commercial, customer service, accounting, master data and risk management teams will be essential.  The ability to interact with Bunge vendors and customers in a professional manner is also required. 


Core Functions:
Supervise credit and collection staff and interface with all levels of management regarding customer credit limits.  
Coordinate / communicate with other HOC’s, regional and value chain teams as required when transactions with counterparties outside of their respective regions may occur
Evaluate and approve credit limits, within authority, based on financial statement analysis, credit reports and communication with bank and trade references
Ensure compliance with Bunge Limited Credit Risk Policy by credit and marketing personnel; conduct training session to educate key stakeholders on the policy
Communicate regularly to global, regional and value chain management the necessary reporting requirements: high risk customers, top exposures by counterparty and commodity, aged receivables schedule, financial losses from defaults
Engage in the analysis of both routine and complex transactions and have the ability to determine where the risks lie and collectability at each stage of the transaction flow. 
Provide technical assistance and work in close partnership with the commercial teams to minimize transaction risk while maximizing business opportunities
Maintain compliance with internal controls and corporate polices; responsible for working with auditors as needed. 
Work closely with the Cap Gemini outsourced teams in Guatemala and India to optimize collection, cash application and reporting activities
Provide SOP’s for the outsourced team to insure Bunge processes are being followed. 


Skills/Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics or accounting
Advanced degree preferred
NACM Certification preferred
Minimum seven years credit and counterparty risk management experience with multinational, major regional trading company or financial institution. 
Minimum five years of collection experience.  
Minimum three years of people supervisory experience.
Excellent interpersonal and professional skills.  Ability to deal with people at all levels both internally and externally.  
Proficiency in Excel and Word required
Proficiency in SAP and FSCM modules is a plus
Self starter with strong management skills and the ability to forge a cohesive team
Proven decision making and problem solving capability
