Position Summary:
The NA Key Account Manager is responsible for managing relationships with specifically defined, large customers (likely with a global presence), as well as leading and managing key account negotiations and new business development to ensure financial growth targets are met as well as coordinating cross-functional and cross-regional alignment.  This includes identifying opportunities that develop new business, maintain existing business, and ensure complete customer satisfaction. This is achieved via an in depth understanding of the customer and business environment while maintaining a focus on the overall objective of meeting the Company’s annual growth and profit targets.  

 

Core Functions:
·       Develop, implement and execute account plans to meet budget for profit and volume objectives as part of the overall sales plan.
·       Ensure compliance with all work processes in accordance with Bunge’s safety policies, procedures and culture, including but not limited to driving and customer on-site visits.
·       Coordinate Key Account negotiations in a collaborative, productive manner to ensure regional buy-in, alignment and overall success to the global business.
·       Analyze account data and provide insights to key stakeholders, including account budgets, pricing input and improving cost effectiveness.
·       Build and enhance strategic long-term relationships with selected accounts by establishing business relationships with key decision makers and influencers in multiple disciplines (i.e. R&D, Marketing, Purchasing) at the customer and at various levels.
·       Account management activities including, but not limited to:
•        relationship objectives as defined in the annual account planning process
•        volume and profitability
•        pipeline management and growth
•        Overall commercial activity and ownership of the selected account(s)
·       Coordinate and lead cross-functional team efforts, and possibly cross-regional efforts, in a collaborative and highly communicative manner to ensure full account awareness, market knowledge and achievement of regional account profit and volume objectives. 
·       Drive growth through prospecting, collaborative visits, presentations, research and senior management engagement, both regionally and globally.
·       Identify, plan and secure internal and external resources needed to support and achieve defined business plans.
·       The Key Accounts Manager is responsible for Food Safety and Quality by understanding and communicating our company Quality and Food Safety Systems.

 

Skill/Experience Requirements:
·       BS Degree in agricultural economics, food science or related business
·       7+ years of food industry and customer management experience, with 3+ years of large account management experience, or equivalent experience.
·       Commodities understanding and contracting experience.
·       Extensive account management experience, selling to food processors.
·       Very strong organizational and time management skills

• Proficient in MS Office Suite.
• SalesForce proficiency experience a plus.
• Strategic Account Management training a plus.

 

Travel Requirements: 30 - 50%
