Overview:
Oracle PL/SQL Developer will join distributed Data Warehouse Maintenance and Support Team. This role will be responsible for designing and maintaining the Global BI database to ensure its stability, reliability and performance, implement improvements and provide day-to-day support for data warehouse stakeholders. The role will work closely with development teams to understand the existing solutions, identify the root cause of the observed and reported issues and come up with the solutions to meet stakeholders’ needs. The role will be improving ETL/ELT pipelines, SQL queries and helping stakeholders with SQL queries optimizations; analyse, monitor, and optimize existing solutions; ensure compliance of deliverables to quality standards.
Essential functions:
- Interact with Project Management, Business Stakeholders, Business Analysts, Architects, Developers and Database Administrators to clarify the needs
- Monitor database processes execution and address processing errors and delays
- Analyse jobs execution patterns and suggest improvements
- Design and implement data warehouse ETL/ELT process improvements
- Analyse the incidents and issues identified in the processing or raised by the stakeholders, identify the root cause and implement fix
- Coordinate bug fixes and improvements implementations with the business and technical stakeholders and development teams
- Support stakeholders in building optimal SQL queries
- Optimize existing solutions
- Manage the queue of the data warehouse related incidents in ServiceNow
- Plan and keep track of development activities in project management software (e.g. Jira)
- Attend and represent changes to environments in change management meetings.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- 3 years of experience with Oracle SQL and PL-SQL programming, 5 preferred
- Experience developing and maintaining data warehouses in big data solutions
- Familiarity with Oracle build-in dictionaries and packages
- Good knowledge of Oracle analytical functions
- Expertise in relational and multidimensional databases as well as in queries optimization
- Experience with processing big data sources in Oracle
- Experience with integrating various data sources
- Experience in monitoring Oracle DB (jobs, execution of queries, etc.)
- Focused on customer satisfaction
- Willingness to learn new tools and technologies
- Worked with BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Looker, Shiny (Preferred)
- Conceptual knowledge of data and analytics, such as dimensional modeling, ETL, reporting tools, data governance, data warehousing, structured and unstructured data.
- Experience working on a collaborative Agile product team
- Flexibility to changes in work direction as the project develops
- Excellent communication, listening, and influencing skills
- Demonstrated strong number sense, intellectually curious and willing to adjust position based on additional information
- Strong work ethic; ability to work at an abstract level and gain consensus
