Overview
Bunge‘s Chief Privacy Officer (CPO) is a position that will report to the global Chief Compliance & Ethics Officer and oversee all countries and all industries in which Bunge operates.
Bunge is looking for a global position to ensure global alignment between the privacy frameworks of key regions and to oversee privacy compliance programs. The CPO is expected to build effective relationships with business leaders and other privacy stakeholders and partner with Bunge’s global legal, HR and IT organizations 

 

The role of the CPO is to build and manage Bunge's privacy program, to oversee privacy policies and statements, to describe privacy requirements and monitor Bunge’s and contractors’ compliance with them. The CPO will facilitate regulatory compliance by coordinating Bunge's privacy initiatives. The CPO will work closely with business stakeholders to control risk from potential procedural or technology changes that affect privacy.
The CPO conducts global privacy risk assessments, focused on specific global business processes or applications, identifies and suggests prioritization of privacy risk treatment for the organization, and determines how to maintain and enhance adherence to regulatory requirements and corporate policies. The CPO will supervise privacy training and awareness programs to ensure their compliance with privacy requirements, and review and maintain the personal data breach response plan at a global level.

 

Position Summary:
1) Develop, implement and maintain Bunge's global privacy program and oversee privacy policies, procedures and documentation. In addition, the CPO will ensure compliance with U.S. data protection laws and requirements, including HIPAA.  
2) Monitor adherence to Bunge´s global privacy program:
a.    Ensure that business units, internal teams and third parties stakeholders (including business partners, suppliers, service providers) follow Bunge’s global privacy program, to verify the extent in which these stakeholders meet privacy requirements and address privacy concerns.
b.    Conduct regular privacy policy compliance assessments.
c.    Collaborate with internal stakeholders and manage investigation and reporting of personal data breaches, as appropriate. 
3) Work in close collaboration with internal stakeholders to develop privacy impact assessments when required.
4) Support the creation of a personal data global inventory that documents how and why Bunge collects, shares and uses personal data.
5) Oversee Bunge’s personal data retention program in close cooperation with relevant stakeholders to facilitate deletion or anonymization of personal data that is no longer needed for identified purpose(s).
6) Serve as a liaison regarding privacy policy related questions, data privacy issues and breaches.
7) Oversee data privacy awareness campaigns, training and orientation for all employees. 
8) Identify trends in privacy and regulatory requirements to maintain the global privacy program.
10) Other Duties as Assigned.

 

Skills/Experience Requirements:
●    A legal degree with a technical and technological background is desirable.
●    One or more  of the following certifications is desirable: Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP), Certified Information Privacy Management (CIPM), and/or Certified Information Privacy Technologist (CIPT), and one or more of: Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) and Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).
●    Experience in privacy, data protection, security, risk management, auditing and/or compliance.
●    Prior experience as a data privacy officer or senior leader for an international organization in an information security or data protection role is desirable. 
●    Experience working in a heavily regulated and/or audited environment. 
●    Experience in global data privacy legislation including for example EU, Latam, US/Canada, Asia, Africa. 
●    Experience with Standard Contractual Clauses, Binding Corporate Rules.
●    Familiarity and experience with cloud computing, online services, web and enterprise applications, and data analytics, data mapping with technological tools.
●    Strong analytical and problem resolution skills. 
●    Sound business judgment, with the ability to think strategically and give practical advice by balancing business needs with legal risks.
●    Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to work well with a diverse complex organization and with interdisciplinary teams.
●    Travel as required to determine and influence privacy programs in jurisdictions the organization is operating in.
