About Bunge’s Global Economic Research Team:

Knowledge is a critical component to Bunge’s success, particularly in the increasingly dynamic agricultural markets. This is the driving force behind why Bunge has built one of the largest research teams in the industry. Our research team is comprised of over 50 analysts world‐wide who gather, analyze, and report supply and demand information. Research analysts work closely with traders on a daily basis in order to help drive market discussions and implement trade ideas. The team covers grains, oilseeds, biofuels, freight and livestock.

 

About the position, Data Analyst: 

Main responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and maintain a historical and current global supply & demand balance sheets
  • Additional duties include, trade flow analysis. Processing vessel line-ups and analysis of such line-up data and estimating trade flows for key origin and destination areas. Coordinate conference calls with destinations in order to track and estimate trade.
  • Develop and implement data solutions for our continuous improvement of automating weekly processes;
  • Evaluate group needs and requirements to debug, maintain and update existing program and processes;
  • Create presentations and market outlooks;
  • Enhance Global Economic Research’s activities and endeavors by planning delivery of solutions; answering technical and procedural questions; teaching improved processes; providing support to team members;

Required:

  • Degree in Economics, Ag Economics, Business Finance, or related discipline;
  • Advanced VBA and expertise in Excel;
  • Data management skill;
  • Must have intense curiosity about commodity markets;
  • Ability to actively partner/collaborate with global teams and desire to be a team member;
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work in a fast paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet specific deadlines;
  • Proactive analysis and initiative;
  • Effective oral and written communication; ability to communicate complex topics in short and clear messages; 

 

Preferred:

  • Working knowledge of Python and Master’s degree in Economics, Ag Economics, Business Finance, or other quantitative field; 
  • Good understanding of statistical and predictive modelling concepts
  • Experience in grains, oilseeds or commodities fundamental and market analysis;
