Position Summary:

Bunge has an opportunity available for an experienced Paralegal, Litigation to join its Legal team based in our St. Louis corporate headquarters.

 

The Paralegal will report to an Associate General Counsel and will support the Legal team.

 

Core Functions:

  • Provide litigation assistance in a wide range of commercial disputes, commercial and tort  and employment litigation including:
    • Administer the legal hold process
      • Draft, issue and track legal holds
      • Draft Questionnaires for legal holds
      • Interview legal hold custodians
      • Compile and collect documentation responsive to legal holds
      • Collect and gather electronic records subject to legal holds
    • Compile, organize and label documents responsive to discovery
    • Draft and/or review discovery responses
    • Compile and prepare exhibits for pleadings, positions statements, claim letters, depositions, etc.
    • Administer the collection of judgments and payments on Promissory Notes
  • Support investigations by:
    • Preparing witness interview questions
    • Researching and collecting factual information using internal resources, contacts, public records and on-line resources
    • Conducting electronic searches (e.g., e-mail, instant and text messages, etc.) and review and summarize search results
    • Collecting, reviewing and analyzing documents and data
  • Prepare response to subpoenas and document requests
  • Draft and review legal documents
  • Serve as an administrator of Legal Tracker by
    • Creating and maintaining matters in Legal Tracker
    • Coordinating the timekeeper rate review process
    • Generate reports and dashboards using Legal Tracker
  • Conduct legal research (Lexis and PLC)
  • Assist with training including preparing and presenting
  • Administer Bunge’s record retention program and web-based tool (Exterro)
  • Support special projects and initiatives and perform other duties as assigned

 

Skill/Experience Requirements:

  • Associate’s Degree in Paralegal Studies or its equivalent experience with a minimum work experience of five plus years as a litigation or employment and labor paralegal
  • Prior in-house corporate experience preferred
  • Demonstrated organizational skills with a strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities
  • Ability to work independently and complete assignments in a timely manner
  • Excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills required
  • Working knowledge of MS Office solutions, including OneDrive, Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel and PowerPoint, e-billing and matter management tools (Legal Tracker), document management systems, and Adobe.
