The Sustainability Execution Manager works collaboratively with commercial local sourcing teams, sustainability execution management, local logistics execution, plant ecological engineers along with other key stakeholders to develop, coordinate, and promote effective sustainability initiatives and programs. Responsibilities include educating the trading and commercial community regarding sustainability, process improvement and coordinating local origination activities related to sustainability, new trade flow development and Greenhouse Gas (GHG) enhancement performing research about sustainability and sustainable sourcing reporting. Responsible for providing professional supervision and management of the daily work of the regional sustainability execution team.
CORE FUNCTIONS:
· Leadership and oversight for the North America sustainability programs while supporting alignment and compliance to the global programs.
· Leads research and analysis used to develop core sustainability strategies to ensure business practices, products and services meet corporate goals and compliant with government rules and regulations.
· Collaborates with global sustainability management team and business leaders to implement processes & technologies that reduce the organization’s carbon footprint.
· Promote & cultivate a sustainability philosophy to internal and external audiences.
· Manages subordinates in day-to-day performance of the sustainability support roles.
· Maintain certifications and ensure successful audit performance related to sustainability schemes and local regulations (ISCC EU, ISSC PLUS, National Schemes, etc.)
· Regional sustainability execution subject matter expert for sustainability certification schemes to support current program requirements and future certification accreditation, including of 2BSvs, ISCC and related programs.
· Track progress against milestone delivery of the sustainability execution roadmap.
· Stay abreast of trends and legislative changes to formal sustainability programs to understand and advise of business impact.
· Lead implementation of sustainability execution processes, procedures, and tools by embedding certification scheme requirements, as necessary.
· Coordinate and perform GHG emission calculations, volume reporting, ensure sustainability delivery notes timely issuance, traceability tracking, issuance of credits positions and related activities.
· Works with global sustainability execution management team focused on facilitating and coordinating sustainability initiatives.
· Manage resource allocation for responsibilities and tasks associated in ISCC and related certification schemes administration oversight.
· Ensure compliance with ISCC system requirements and regulatory.
· Ensure related consultations with supplier, the field representatives and the contractors.
· Verification, validation ISCC supplier invoices, rejection of payment in case of non-fulfilment and conducting related supplier and internal negotiations performance of the ISCC administrator staff.
· Validation of ISCC sales sustainability certificates and follow up approved by the applicable OPD Manager of the respective facilities or Value Chain Director.
· Monitoring and maintenance of ISCC mass balance closures with the ISCC administration staff.
· Business planning of ISCC trading process and related certification schemes.
· Sustainability ISCC clauses administration and related certification schemes.
· Conduct ISCC internal procedure audits and processing of data and results.
· Ensure annual renewal of certification scheme registrations, initiation and supervision of the related official procedures.
· Lead and facilitate preparation and conduct 2BSvs/ISCC certification audits.
· Responsible for investigating and resolution, when necessary, for value chain stakeholders’ concerns of sustainability execution responsibilities.
· Participation in Greenhouse Gas (GHG) projects, visit farmers and research areas.
· Extract data, query and reports related to sustainability certification schemes, utilizing SAP, BW or other associated systems and platforms.
· With a continuous improvement focus, identify and implement technology to reduce manual work and automate sustainability execution processes and procedures.
· Lead and implement sustainability execution business training and documentation required for maintaining various certifications.
· Develop innovative methods of monitoring sustainability performance and report information and data for compliance, customers and internal business requirements.
· Support budgetary planning and track expenses associated with regional program.
· Other duties as assigned.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
· Bachelor’s degree in related field
· Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Tools, including advanced Excel
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· At least three years of experience in a related field
· Strong process orientation business acumen
