Position Summary
Reporting to the Oils Trading Manager, the Senior Trader Oils is responsible for the profitable growth of Bunge’s vegetable oils program to Latin America, nurture sustainable and collaborative relationship with customers and key stakeholders, develop a great team and support Operational Excellence to achieve the desired business results.
Essential Functions
Profitable Business Growth
• Profitably grow Bunge’s vegetable oil program.
• Customer centricity: Puts the customer needs at the forefront of the decision process by understanding their needs and removing barriers to a great customer service.
• Analyze fundamentals of cash and futures markets and leveraging Bunge’s programs, identify trading strategies, explain rationale and risk/reward scenarios, manage Bunge’s positions to maximize profit.
• Manage and actively optimize logistics (freight, contracts, settlements, etc. …) with attention to details using analytical and critical thinking.
• Communicate to all internal stakeholders to ensure clarity of own position/opinion, ensure access to information of all employees and increase alignment of views across the organization.
• Regularly visit customers and commercial offices.
• Constantly identify new internal or external sources of growth, profitability and competitiveness (internally in company structure, processes and modus-operandi, externally in its’ markets, customer needs, new geographies/products, etc.)
• Precisely and timely report positions, profit and loss and all other administrative requirement.
• Work with the sustainability team to increase Bunge’s approved palm supplier pool in Latin America and grow our origination presence with a strong focus on sustainability and traceability to plantation.
Relationship Building and Management:
• Cultivates relationships with colleagues and stakeholders by fostering win-win situations and working to remove barriers to collaboration.
• Develop a strong and profitable relationship with certain Bunge large key accounts and support Bunge’s Key Account Managers relationships with their customers.
• Maintain mutually beneficial and cooperative relationships with BG origination offices.
• Establish trustful and value-adding relations with BG Value Chains and Global Research.
Leadership:
• Effectively direct and influence the activities or actions of others (peers and other team members in the organization).
• Mentor and coach an Assistant Trader (more junior position).
• Incorporates Bunge Core Values and serve as a role model within the organization for each one of them: Act as One Team, Drive for Excellence, Do What’s Right.

Skills/Experience Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics or closely related field.
• 5 years of experience as a Trader, Associate Trader, or similar occupation in the agribusiness industry.
• 2 years of experience with direct commodity and freight trading experience in the Latin America region, with specific focus on edible oils and oilseeds.
• Excellent customer management abilities and interest in understanding customers' business models and needs
• Demonstrated analytical aptitude
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to communicate trading strategies both internally and to customers
• Leadership skills, willingness to learn and grow as a people’s manager
• Strong attention to detail, quality and integrity.
• Excellent organization and planning capabilities
• Ability to lead across reporting lines/functions
• Understanding of commodity trading, MTM rules, commodity cash and futures settlements practices and industry terms and exchanges (CBOT)
• Understanding of ocean freight market
• Understanding of sustainable practices and certification (ISCC, RSPO) requirements
• Fluency in English and Spanish
