Overview

An Automation Engineer uses technology to improve, streamline and automate a manufacturing process. They are responsible for planning, implementation, and monitoring such technology.

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Explore and implementing new ways to automate systems
  • Design and testing automation equipment and processes
  • Program new automated components
  • Identify quality issues and writing reports
  • Eliminate defects and errors with product and software development
  • Collaborate with other business units
  • Contract and third-party management.
  • Definitions related to the infrastructure and architecture of networks together with other areas of the company, aiming at the segregation between IT and OT networks.
  • Integration and data communication between the most diverse layers of the network, following applicable cybersecurity protocols.
  • Explore and implementing new ways to automate systems 
  • Design and testing automation equipment and processes 
  • Program new automated components 
  • Identify quality issues and writing reports 
  • Eliminate defects and errors with product and software development 
  • Support in defining wireless OT network and communication protocols needed to ensure connectivity.
  • Interaction with process historians, enabling communications and data for deeper analysis.
  • Interaction with different communication protocols (Profibus, OPC UA and DA, Profinet, etc.).
  • Support in monitoring projects involving ICS and Industry 4.0 update.
  • Work together with industrial and IT teams to deliver scalable and secure solutions.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or similar field​
  • Proficiency in maintaining automation equipment​
  • Experience with robotics, AI and machine learning​
  • Experience with project management​
  • Solid understanding of computer programming and software development.
  • Knowledgeable about various Agile methodologies and experienced in coaching Scrum​
  • Experience working on a collaborative Agile product team 
  • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills​
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail​
  • Strong analytical skills
  • A desire to continually upgrade technical knowledge​
  • Excited about trying new solutions​
  • Embraces a culture of trust and complete transparency
