Position Summary:

This position is responsible for conducting commercial and trading activities associated with product sales and soybean procurement. This position is also responsible for the coordination of rail and truck logistics.


Core Functions:

  • Under minimal supervision, merchandise soybean products to maximize profitability of trading activities.
  • Manage rail and truck logistics.
  • Seek out new meal customers and bean customers, visit accounts throughout the year.
  • Be aware of accounts receivable issues and work with collecting money as needed.
  • Facilitate communication with other Bunge plants who share customer base.
  • Work with hedging, spreads, and crush projections making sure daily position is in line. Make sure hedges are done properly to maintain plant margins and minimize risks.
  • Service customers in areas of market information, e-business, bids, hours, grade reporting and accounting issues.
  • Evaluate and report changing crop and market conditions to appropriate company personnel in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Be aware of any issues in plant affecting the shipping and receiving and daily production to meet customers’ expectations.
  • Must be able and willing to work weekends and holidays when required.


Skill/Experience Requirements:

  • B.S. degree in Business or Agriculture Economics.
  • Minimum three years of experience in commodity marketing for Merchandiser.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Working knowledge of cash commodity trading and CBOT.
  • Sales knowledge and negotiations skills.
  • Excellent communications skills are a must.
  • Good computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Timeliness and accuracy are critical.
  • Ability to learn and apply knowledge quickly.
