Journeyman Electrician

Position Summary:

The Bunge North America soybean processing plant in Decatur, IN is looking for an experienced industrial/maintenance electrician.  A Journeyman Electrician with a minimum of 3-5 years industrial experience is preferred.  Must be safety conscious must be willing to work weekends, holidays, and 2nd / 3rd shift.  Excellent benefits that start on day one.  Starting pay is $30.61.  Come join a team that puts safety first every day!

Core Functions:

• Installs and repairs electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment, following electrical code, manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints, and other specifications, using hand tools, power tools, and electrical and electronic testing equipment
• Installs power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment, such as conveyors and programmable controllers, following electrical code and blueprints, using hand tools and voltage tester
• Installs power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment, such as conveyors, and programmable controllers, following electrical code and blueprints, using hand tools and voltage tester
• Connects power supply wires to machines and equipment, and connects cables and wires between machines and equipment, following manuals, schematic diagrams, and blueprints, using hand tools and test equipment
• Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus, such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixutures, using test equipment, and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables, using hand tools
• Tests malfunctioning machinery, using test equipment, and discusses malfunction with other maintenance workers
• Replaces faulty electrical components of machine, such as relays, switches, and motors, and positions sensing devices, using hand tools
• Operates equipment equipped with programmable controllers to program automated machinery, such as robots and automated machinery.  Tests for malfunctions, and verifies repairs
• Plans layout of wiring and installs wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus in buildings as needed
• Diagnoses and replaces faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment
• Responsible to adhere to the Food Safety Culture to provide safe product to consumers
• Report any concerns with safe food practices
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Follows all safety policies and procedures
• Follows Good Manufacturing Practices

Skills / Experience Requirements:

• High School Diploma / GED preferred
• Journeyman Electrician with minimum 3-5 years industrial maintenance experience preferred
• Previous experience in an industrial environment is preferred
• Ability to work safely and follow policies and procedures
• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
• Must be able to work at heights and in confined spaces
• Good communication skills
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Willing to work overtime and flexible hours
• Must be able to work weekends and holidays
• Must be able to work 2nd / 3rd shift
• Good attendance
