OVC Operator Trainee

Position Summary:

This position will be responsible for overseeing the operation process of a soybean processing facility in Destrehan LA.  Additionally, this individual will be responsible for housekeeping in conjunction with training.  The candidate will need to be able to work in a safe, team environment and can work a rotating shift. 

Core Functions:

• Must actively participate in Bunge’s Employee Safety Plan
• Maintain a safe work environment for self and all employees
• Required to follow all HACCP procedures and guidelines to ensure product safety and quality
• Operate and control soybean processing equipment/machinery
• Record data, secure samples and perform necessary process control tests required for the successful operation of the plant
• Make adjustments and maintain operating parameters
• Must be able to obtain Process Safety Management certification
• General housekeeping of the plant
• Cross train in all processes
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

Skill/Experience Requirements:

• High School diploma or GED equivalent preferred
• 2 + years of experience as a process technician or completed or actively working on 2-year Process Technician degree
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment 
• Demonstrated ability to work in a safety conscious environment 
• Some mechanical background including the ability to recognize signs of operational failure 
• Good written and verbal communications skills 
• Must be willing and able to work rotating shift
• Overtime will be required both as part of the normal schedule and to provide coverage as needed.
