Master Electrician is responsible for the electrical maintenance and some instrumentation of the Destrehan, LA soybean processing facility. Candidate must actively participate in Bunge’s Employee Safety Policy and maintain a safe work environment for self and all employees.

Main Accountabilities

· Ability to read and understand ladder logic – troubleshoot and repair Programmable Logix Control (PLC) (Allen-Brady) systems

· Calibrate and/or troubleshoot process instrumentation, use handheld communication (TREX is a plus)

· Responsible for plant wide electrical troubleshooting and repair (electrical circuits of 480VAC or less)

· Troubleshoot and repair variable frequency drive (VFD) and AC/DC systems

· Ability to perform general electrician skills including but not limited to running conduit and sizing and pulling wires

· Ability to follow, interpret, and read blueprints and schematics

· Inspect for conformity to industry standards or specifications

· Troubleshoot and repair electrical components of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic industrial equipment

· Maintain electrical switchgear

· Ability to lay out and install conduit

· Working knowledge of thermography

· Other duties as assigned

 

Knowledge and Technical Competencies

· PLC experience, preferred

· HVAC experience, preferred

· Written/Verbal communication skills

· Ability to work in a team environment

· Ability to work in a highly quality controlled environment

· Ability to work in a safety conscious environment

· Ability to maintain a good working relationship with other facility personnel

 

Education/Experience

· High school diploma or GED equivalent, preferred

· Associate degree and/or technical certification, preferred

· 5 years of industrial electrical experience, preferred

 

Work Schedule

· Overtime required as part of the normal schedule, call out availability, and an on-call rotation
