The role is globally responsible for Crush Extraction/Preparation technology including:
- Long term development of technologies for business competitive advantage
- Medium term standardized application of technologies including best practices
- Short term gap analysis and improvement
Overall, the position will identify and deliver continued improvement toward industry leading excellence to support the business agenda. This role will also support and participate in all initiatives for Safety.
This role will support the Global Crush Technology Director and Crush Working group as a global technical Subject Matter Expert for crush extraction processes. This includes from beans reception to shipping, extraction of beans and seeds and associated services like process automation and process safety. The Global Extraction Technology Manager is responsible to develop and govern global standards for extraction processes. Standards will include, but are not limited to, design standards, operational standards, and process performance.
- Serve as the “Go To” for anything Extraction within Global Industrial Operations.
- Collaborate with Crush Technology Director and Manufacturing Excellence working groups and partnering vendors to develop and oversee the creation of extraction design standards and KPI policies.
- Collaborate with operations and project teams to develop and implement extraction optimization/operations training.
- Support facility assessment and improvement efforts.
- Support project development efforts.
- Collaborate with ME Working Groups and partnering vendors to develop roadmap for the global technology strategy, evaluating industry trends in crush plant extraction processes.
- Identify, prioritize, and implement long term crushing/processes/technology/ automation to add a competitive advantage to the company. Work with technology partners/suppliers to evaluate ideas and assess business value.
- Support the analysis of major crushing capital projects to maximize efficiency of capital spent with a view towards use of new technology that will meet customer requirements.
- Development of accurate TCO models as needed to support project and capital investment decisions. In addition, assistance will be provided to the regions with due diligence activities as required (crushing sites visits, evaluations, etc.).
- Keep abreast of new and pending technology through supplier contact, published literature, conference attendance, and network development.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Extraction technologies for soya, rapeseed, and sunflower processing:
- Experience with project development and execution
- Crush Operations experience
- Fluent English
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or equivalent.
- Strong experience as industrial / operations leader / technician with crush experience in industrial management and driving performance.
- Financial valuation experience rationalizing and evaluating capital investments is a plus.
- Understanding of global equipment suppliers
- Expert with crush extraction process and assets.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong teamwork, leadership and influencing skills required.
- Ability to work effectively in a highly matrixed environment.
- Motivated, self-starter with the ability to engage others by communicating a compelling picture of the future to work collectively towards common goals.
- Attention to detail, Process orientation, Analytical skills.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

- Ability to travel up to 50% domestic and internationally.
