What will you be doing as a Freight Operator?
 
This role as Freight Operator at Bunge is your next career step to grow and become responsible for all aspects of the voyage. From the initial instructions, cargo and bunker calculations to the hire and freight payments, followed by the finalization for dry bulk cargoes in Panamax and Handy sized vessels. During the process you will appoint agents, surveyors and port captains. You are aware of, and responsible to guard that your cargo meets regulations and legal obligations. Communication is an essential part of the job. As a Freight operator you will be in contact with owners, charterers, brokers and traders on a frequent basis. In this position you work in a team of 21 operators, all of which, are responsible for managing the voyage. Besides your team, you will work closely with the trade department. The position offers a lot of responsibilities and opportunities to deliver your input for improvement. In order to get up to speed, of course we will provide a thorough induction and onboarding by a senior colleague.

What will you bring to the role of Freight Operator?
 
You are an internationally oriented, positive and structured person with engaging communication skills. You have the mindset to find a solution to every problem and building sustainable business relationships is second nature to you. Furthermore, your proactive and a natural team player. 

What else do we expect?
 

  • BSc in Logistics or technical degree;
  • Between 1-3 years of experience in a similar position, which might have been gained during your study;
  • Sea Freight experience is a big plus;
  • Excellence in English;
  • Located in Geneva (is a must).
