Millwright-Boiler Operator

Reports to:  Operations Manager

Duties:   The general functions of the boiler operator/millwright include maintenance, construction, repair, install, and remove various machines, equipment and piping, both metal and wood, with respect to production, quality, safety and sanitation in an efficient manner.  In addition, candidate will have primary responsibility for plant boiler and steam system operations. The responsibilities include:
 

• Reads and interprets drawings and layouts.
• Installs, maintains, replaces, moves or removes equipment, machines and piping or any other production or maintenance device.
• Makes repairs to and checks machines and equipment for correct operation.
• Performs all operations necessary for the construction, installation and repair of equipment and devices designated.
• Daily checks and maintenance of steam and boiler systems.
• Maintains a clean and orderly work area and removes material and equipment from job site.
• Performs miscellaneous job related duties as assigned.
• Performs chemical testing as needed to assure proper boiler operations.

Skills/Experience Requirements:

Candidate should have experience and knowledge of water tube and fire tube boiler operation and maintenance. Also, experience with machine maintenance, welding, pneumatics; bearing and seal replacement, machine tool skills, plumbing, and fundamentals of electricity. Formal education, training and proof of such is preferred.

Work Schedule:

Primarily day shift with call in availability required.
