Position Summary:

The Key Account Manager (KAM) – Global leads Bunge Loders Croklaan  (BLC) efforts, increasing sales with Global B2B accounts regionally in Canada.  The develops and maintains trust relationship with Key Strategic B2B Accounts, identifying and comprehending customer requirements translating to company solutions creating value for both partners. 


Core Functions:

Sales Activities

·         Work as a team with VP Sales, Global Customer Team and Regional support teams to develop and grow the domestic business for identified Global B2B accounts for Bunge Loders Croklaan (BLC)

·         Develop and expand trust relationships throughout current and developing strategic food Manufacturer organizations.

·         Using expert knowledge of industry, customer requirements and markets, develop and execute customer growth plans aimed at building long-term partnerships with our regionally based Global Accounts and provide mutual benefit for the company.

·         With best in class interpersonal relationships connect and coordinate customer/company interaction, liaising with departments within BLC to support and facilitate the execution of customer needs from trouble shooting to providing comprehensive solutions.

·         Drive customer focus by being the voice of your customers within the broader BLC organization

·         Develop relationships with the customer’s key leaders in general management, procurement, marketing and merchandising at both the corporate and divisional level

·         Support marketing & sales efforts in the trade by representing BLC industry conferences and trade shows. 

·         Collaborate with the sales team to develop and execute category management initiatives at the local / divisional level with particular focus on driving pull through sales of value-added products

·         Effectively communicate with internal stakeholders, in marketing, product development and product management to provide effective category management strategies

·         Perform standard account management tasks such as customer insight gathering, price intelligence, forecasting, customer development planning, customer service delivery, and contract / price management among others

·         Ensure compliance with all work processes in accordance with Bunge's safety policies, procedures and culture, including but not limited to driving and customer on-site trials.

Communication and Administration Activities

·         Manage sales accounts using CRM tool.

·         Manage accounts buying habits through forecasting in BLC forecasting tool

·         Working closely with Team Analyst to scope and deliver regular and comprehensive reports  on customers, strategies successes and challenges. 

·         Make use of software and various social media applications such as Linked In to promote BLC


Skills/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Food Science or Business preferred. MBA in Business/Finance an asset
  • 10+ years’ experience in selling channels in Foodservice Industry or related B2B environment
  • Excellent knowledge of commodity markets, exchanges and influences on overall product categories
  • Previous experience of BI tools (e.g. Tableau, reporting
  • Knowledge of agricultural commodities and ingredient sales an asset
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite.
  • Bi Lingual Language skills are an asset
  • Passion for selling and building marketing leading customer experience
  • Customer oriented with ability to leverage deep company, industry and customer knowledge to develop opportunities for Value Co-Creation.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence business decisions and outcomes without direct line authority.
