Regional Account Manager- Foodservice Chain

Position Summary:

As a Regional Account Manager, you will lead Bunge’s efforts to profitably grow with major regional chains in the assigned region by working closely with your teammates (Regional Development Manager and Inside Sales Representatives) to prospect, target, and develop new value added customer opportunities.


This position can be based in Philadelphia, Baltimore or Harrisburg


Core Functions:

  • Be a catalyst for the change required to meet Bunge’s strategic objectives in the foodservice market
  • Work as a team with the RDM and ISR to continually prospect and develop new opportunities to grow Bunge’s market share through sales to multi-unit chain customers
  • Work with the RDM to target and sell regional multi-unit chain customers to drive and secure distribution in the assigned region
  • Support the existing business by selling Bunge and distributor premium brands to regional multi-unit chain customers
  • Develop new business of Bunge brands with scaled operators / regional chains (Top 150-500) in accordance with our distribution strategies
  • Develop relationships with the customer’s key regional leaders in procurement, marketing and product development at multi-unit regional operators
  • Drive customer focus by being the voice of your customers within the broader Bunge organization
  • Perform both prospecting and account management tasks such as customer insight gathering, price intelligence, forecasting, customer development planning, customer service delivery, and contract / price management among others

  • New accounts opened
  • New product/slot placements
  • Volume and total contribution margin growth
  • Value added volume and contribution margin growth
  • Regional market share of key customers and branded market
  • T&E budget
  • Forecast accuracy
  • Compliance to key business processes and controls


Skill/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field preferred; 4-8 years of foodservice sales experience required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with customers, senior management, peers, and subordinates
  • Demonstrated business acumen with experience operating in a cross functional organization
  • Proven experience driving value added sales through solution selling processes
  • Strong customer knowledge and relationships across the assigned region
  • Experience managing a portfolio of products ranging from basic staple commodities to specialty value-added
  • Excellent organizational skills with a focus on delivering results
  • Demonstrated teamwork and critical thinking skills
  • Strong proficiency in office productivity and CRM software


Travel Requirements, if any (please indicate percentage):

At least 50%
