Bunge has an exciting opportunity available for a Regional Sales Manager (Italy). In this role, you will be responsible for the sales & development of customers in Italy. Main accountabilities consist of developing new customers, consolidate & develop business at existing customers, including new projects. You are also responsible for driving sales and margin targets for the Italian market and you are in charge of developing and implementing a regional strategy, focusing on optimizing existing and acquiring new business. The person will work closely with internal commercial stakeholders in EMEA.

Note: you are ideally located in Italy to obtain this job, however, we will also consider relocations.

The Regional Sales Manager is responsible of accountable for regional accounts and prospect accounts in several oil & fat categories as confectionery, bakery, plant based, nutrition, organic… Continuously propagate and contribute to the high-standards culture we are developing to win in BLC EMEA. Capable of challenging internal organizational barriers and processes when needed, e.g. speed of action, meeting segment specific requirements…

 

 

Main responsibilities:

 

  • Maintain, acquire and develop existing and new customers in the Italian Food market, based on strategic account plans. Visit prospect customers for new business to develop and grow the region. Represent our company and the specialties sales team at trade fairs and industry events.
  • Draws up account plans for selected customers & identifies profitable solutions. Negotiates with customers on products/terms/prices. Builds up a professional network. Knowledge on S&D and trends to become a trusted advisor to both colleges within and outside our BU and to customers.
  • Pro-actively initiates customer projects to support continuous differentiated contribution margin growth. Develop and execute regional strategy for the Italian market. Helps existing and new customers to find a solution with offering alternative products / services / knowledge / insights.
  • Identify and communicate value-creation opportunities. Frequent contact with technical colleagues, Customer Service, Product Managers and fellow Sales Team Leads in other BLC BU’s.
  • Responsible for correct execution of customer contracts, including IT-system entry and maintenance/ issue-management. Responsible for providing regional performance reports, completing customer forecast and customer information. Provide input into business understanding of customer needs and supply/demand dynamics. Participate in team meetings and planning sessions.     

 

We are looking for 2 different skills sets / aspects in our ideal candidate:

 

  • A Bachelor or master’s degree in economics, Food Science, Agri-Culture or related area.
  • +/- 5 years of key account management (B2B) experience and have an established network in the world of food ingredients.
  • Technical understanding of vegetable oils & fats applications is a plus.
  • Italian native speaking. Fluency in English is required.
  • Willingness to travel (50%).
