Overview:We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced senior Cloud Engineer join our Bunge Data Platform team. As a Cloud Engineer at Bunge, you'll be at the forefront of our cloud revolution. You’ll craft innovative and high-impact solutions, designing, implementing, integrating, working with our product application teams to ensure seamless and efficient software development and deployment, with global scope. This role requires a strong understanding of data platforms, GCP Cloud, automation tools, and Cloud best practices. Cloud Engineers will work closely with a multidisciplinary Agile team to build high quality data solution driving new data products and analytic/ML solutions. These solutions will generate insights from the organization's connected data, enabling the organization to advance the data-driven decision-making capabilities of the organization's enterprise.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Lead large projects as you will be at the forefront of implementing cloud within Bunge, across all of our geographies and functions, simplifying the multiple levels of complexity of a set of cloud services (e.g., ML pipelines) to stakeholders and finding the optimal solutions for the specific use cases using extensive analysis 
  • You'll consult and work with Bunge Data Platform team, working toward continuous improvement and enabling the creation of the Data Platform foundations, new data products and platform capabilities.  
  • Join forces with our Software Development, Data Science and DevOps folks to understand their requirements and build automated solutions, such as CI/CD, data pipelines or deployment infrastructure using Google Cloud Platform.
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code (IaC) templates using Terraform to provision resources, manage configurations, and ensure consistency across the cloud use cases, from foundational provisioning of application infrastructure to desired state configuration to application installation
  • Lead efforts to architect and maintain Bunge Cloud Platform configurations (Ingestion pipelines, Lake-house architecture, observability tools), ensuring secure integration with the company applications. 
  • Design and implement a platform PKI and Observability dashboards using Cloud native tools and ensure the highest availability of the Bunge Data Platform using DRS and Backup plans
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging cloud technologies and DevOps practices, and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Mentor and coach other DevOps and Cloud Engineers professionals on automations and Cloud standards and practices
  • Foster a culture of sharing, re-use, design for scale stability, and Platform Engineering mindset. 
  • Accountable for the deployment of the Cloud resources in the Data Platform.  Provides input on resource planning and policy development
  • Lead the definition of IaC best practices, communicate it and build the processes to ensure its implementation.
  • Create a structured, organized, readable and reusable code/documentation using best practices.
     


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree with 6 - 10 years of position related experience, or equivalent combo of education and experience level.  
  • English is a must
  • At least 5 years proven, hands-on DevOps engineer experience with major public cloud services, including GCP services, such as Compute Engine, GKE, Big Query, Cloud Run and Cloud Composer/workflow.
  • Google Cloud Professional certifications (like Architect, Data Engineer, or DevOps) is a plus
  • Demonstrable Terraform experience building Cloud automation
  • You thrive in a dynamic, global, ever-changing atmosphere. You are adaptable, resilient, and ready to transform teams and processes. 
  • You can communicate complex, technical concepts to executive staff, business sponsors and technical resources in clear concise language.
  • Experience working on a collaborative Agile product team 
  • Self-motivated with strong problem-solving and learning skills
  • Have built large-scale monitoring solutions with Google Cloud Monitoring or other tools (e.g., Datadog, Sentry, Prometheus, Grafana, SolarWinds).
  • Can communicate complex, technical concepts to business sponsors and technical resources in clear concise language.
  • Have implemented Kubernetes and Docker (or similar container engine) solutions
  • Have built large-scale monitoring solutions with Google Cloud Monitoring or other tools (e.g., Datadog, Sentry, Prometheus, Grafana, SolarWinds).
  • Knowledge of Python and any other scripting language (e.g., Bash). If you have experience building Data Platform products and with big data technologies like Spark, it is a plus. 
  • Conceptual understanding of data mesh and Lake-house architecture in Cloud.
