With three main pillars: Analysis and Decision support, Forecasting, Special Projects, this role combines in-depth analysis of both operational and financial data to help align business processes and strategies with financial goals, and to evaluate progress toward those goals. Reporting to the EU Finance Partner, the Finance Business Partner will play a crucial role in the Western Europe Finance Team by actively participating on performing forecasting and analysis that supports business and corporate decisions of our Senior Management. An additional role will be to lead the communication and finance data for all Western Europe countries with South America Origin Crush Value Chain. Last but not least, this role is key in building knowledge and peer understanding, standardizing and sharing standard methodologies in analysis & reporting, always promoting systems usage.

 

What will you do?

  • Ongoing support to local Country Commercial Leads and Europe Crush Finance Partner in follow up and analysis of markets, positions, margins to ultimately achieve a no surprise PNL environment and early warning to support decision making.
  • Monthly analysis of results and drivers. Understanding PNL impacts arising from positioning and processing including Economic Crush Accounting. Share knowledge & alignment with Countries. Validate reasonableness of key reports. Clarify and summarize deviation in business performance vs. expectations. Support management in identifying issues and opportunities and address them.
  • Establish a strong, proficient and fruitful connectivity with main partners and peers in the admin and finance community, be the finance leader of France looking after, influencing and deciding for the best finance performance. This includes periodic contact with controlling and local statutory finance, tax, credit, Bunge Business Service functions (accounting, middle office, AR and AP), procurement, legal, HR, treasury
  • Maintain very regular contacts with local team in France to support the local management in analysis, decision making and to review various information flows ensuring consistency in processes and accuracy in performance records
  • Preparation of monthly reports requested at SAM OCVC level as well as ad hoc analysis; structured information for senior management; monthly forecast and participation on the preparation of yearly budget of industrial plants in France and SG&A
  • Analysis of new business opportunities, preparing and validating the vital project applications for the approval of new Capex projects
  • Production of a monthly package with the analysis of the financial and business results and their comparison with forecast

A few of the key performance indicators for this role: the delivery of high level quality, meaningful Agri analysis and synthesis, timely submission of monthly forecast, clearly set up agri FP&A processes, constant promotion of best practices and a strong contribution to result improvement through early warning, proactive analyses, and remediation.

Attention to details, results oriented, analytical and problem solving attitude and the ability to analyze large and complex data and extract simple concrete insights.

Experience and knowledge

  • Bachelor’s degree in either Finance or Accounting
  • 5+ years professional experience in related positions in FP&A in a commercial and operations environment
  • Exposure to a commodity trading environment including derivative, MTM, foreign exchange and market risk
  • Experience in preparing management reports and support management functions
  • Having a global view of the business in order to understand company’s procedures and compliance issues
  • Strong system skills including Excel, HFM, OS, SAP
  • Languages: fluency in French and English, Spanish is a plus (please apply in English)
